HELP!
i've just recently applied for a loan through the credit people, THEN decided to research after the £49.95 had been taken out of my bank. Obviously its been a bank holiday weekend so rang up today and they reasured me that they weren't a scam and that they personally don't give the loan they just provide me with a company who will 100% give me the loan. Has anybody since been given loans or are they still scamming. I'm really worried.0 -

There are 6 pages of replies about them, can you see anyone here who has ever received a loan??
They are totally correct in what they have told you. All they do is send your details to companies who offer loans, you could have done this yourself.
There are no guarantees, apart from one.....
People who use companies like this only use them because the mainstream lenders do not want to know, so it only leaves the bottom feeders offering small loans for massive interest.
The chances of ever getting the loan you asked for without a guarantor are pretty much nil.
On the basis that you are not going to get the loan you asked for, you are no different to everyone else who signed up with them, you have paid that money for nothing.0 -
does someone please have the contact number for this company? All the ones I have tried, when I ring it comes up as it is no longer in service! I think they are trying something different now, my OH applied for a loan with them, they asked for bank details (no mention of a fee) he gave them (yes, he is in the doghouse big time!!) and they took £49.50 out the other day! Absolutely fuming, am on my way to the bank to have my details changed now, does anyone know if there is a way for the bank to cancel a payment?? Thank you!! xx'Patience is a virtue till we die. Then a ripple in the water caught my eye'Mrs Jason Orange.Getting organized and thrifty for christmas 2010!0

I made a payment to this company last week and theyve promised money will be there tomorrow, which I now doubt it will be!
Has anybody had more payments taken from them other than the 1st £49.50?
Just wandering whether to change my bank details or not. Thanks0 -

The staggering thing is that the above seems to appeal to so many people.
Imagine going into a petrol station but not being allowed to fill up until you give them some fuel first??
Or going into Tesco but not being allowed to buy anything until you give THEM shopping first.
People try to absolve themselves of any blame by claiming desperation, "it's not my fault, I was desperate for a loan".
As long as there are stupid people, these companies will continue to flourish and make more and more money.0 -

Can I ask how they did this please, and what bank? want to know wether or not it is worth trying with my bank!
Apples2- like I said in my post they never even told us they were taking the money, just said they needed the details so they could deposit the loan into our account!! But I have also made this mistake in the past (which is why I would not have done it again) and it was absolute desperation! Sorry if you have never been in that situation, I genuinely hope you never are!'Patience is a virtue till we die. Then a ripple in the water caught my eye'Mrs Jason Orange.Getting organized and thrifty for christmas 2010!0 -
I never bothered calling these people, I simply wrote to them to ask for the money back on the grounds that they hadn't disclosed they were only a brokers and that they had guaranteed me a loan at 17.5% when in fact it was not guaranteed at all - they only passed me on to another brokers as they said they couldn't match me with a lender. I had to write twice but did get a refund in the end, however Halifax would have helped me get the money back if I hadn't been successful this way (I had to raise a point of sale transaction query form). I was offered a loan in the end through the next company I was passed on to at a rate of 45% APR - no thanks!! I now know never to touch these companies, however approachable and friendly their websites may be - if you can't get a loan through a reputable company I would say don't bother. I'm going to apply for a loan with my bank later in the year when my credit history will be sorted - and at a rate of 6.9%!
I didn't change my bank details and haven't had any further problems.
Also just a note to Apples2, it's not helpful to call people stupid in these forums - everyone has their own reasons for getting into these situations and everyone will deal with their problems in their own way, however foolish they may seem to others. These forums are here for people to offer and find help and support so if you have nothing constructive to say then don't say it
Just to repeat, please don't use this company or any like them, it's just not worth it - in the long run I think it's better to struggle by than to go with one of these awful companies as a short term solution.0 -

Maybe not but I could post a thousand links which start, "I've been such an idiot", "I've been so stupid", "I've been such a t**t" etc etc...
How do you feel about giving all your bank details out to some company you knew absolutely NOTHING about? Do you blame yourself, or do you blame everyone else for not protecting you??
Quite simply, unless people stop being so generous with access into their bank accounts, these companies will continue to flourish. Close one down and it will pop right up again the next day under a different name.
These companies make huge profits by taking advantage of people who think everyone else should protect them.
A common excuse is desperation, "it's not my fault, I was desperate for a loan".... ridiculous!!!!
You followed a simple procedure and retrieved the money you gave away. All the rest of the posters on here would love to hear what you did.
Rather than simply say you had a refund, why don't you post something more constructive??
Make a post saying what steps you took, who you spoke to, who you wrote to, what you wrote in the letters, what address you sent the correspondence to, how long it took etc etc etc...
Please post back when you get your loan at 6.9%...0 -

Yes, I'd be interested to know this too. I had a Black Horse loan at 6.7% some years ago, but I didn't think anyone was doing unsecured loans at that sort of rate now (unless, of course, the 6.9% is flat rate and not APR).I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0
