Warning - The Credit People
Comments

I think i can shed light on this as i used to work for the credit people!!! I left when i found out what a con they are, not only do they trade as the credit people but also as credit problems no problem and credit assured services. They read off a script made up by the owner and fill in the forms whilst talking to you by hand. Never ever touch any of the above named companies!!!!!
Hi, Can I check with you, does anyone actually get their money eventually?? Is it just people who have not been totally honest about their credit history that have problems getting the loan in the end? I've sent the forms back and paid and they are telling me that it will just take 3 days to process once they have received them and I should hear from the lender to go through some final details. I'm worried now : (0 -

They know that if you have had to turn to them for a loan, then you are unlikely to be able to get one.
All they are in business for is to extract upfront 'admin fees' from you, and then fob you off in the hope that a) you give up and forget about it or b) you waste time and energy getting your money minus £5 back and they get all the £5's plus the interest for the time they have kept you hanging on.
They are not in business to help you. I highly doubt anyone has ever ended up with the loan they wanted - they may find some people a £200 payday loan when they actually wanted a £3,000 loan, but that's probably it.
The above applies to the majority of upfront fee brokers with catchy names.0 -
My husband applied to these people for a 3000 loan I was the one who called these robbers an agent named Tommy took the application and put me on hold came back and said YES you have a loan in place and it was guaranteed I asked him about the fee and he said we would get our money back if the loan didn't go through although he said it was 1000% to go through. after reading all the notes on this thread. I rang back and questioned them about this forum they told me it was full of people who has lied on their application forms!!!!! THEY THEN SAID THEY HAD NOT RECEIVED THE APPLICATION BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I demanded to speak to a manager his name was LUKE PHILIPS he kept putting me on hold and then he just cut me off........ I have spoken with the local police and trading standards I live in Hertfordshire but they had better be warned I will turn up at their offices and I WILL fet my money back in full
How I wished I had found this forum last week
thanks for reading:T0 -
Hi just an update about my previous thread. I spoke to The credit People who just showed no interest in my call in fact they were laughing at me as I was on loud speaker.... But I have won the day as I spoke with my bank the Halifax fraud dept explained everything to them within 24 hours the bank had refunded me the the WHOLE of the fee the downsize of this is they cancelled my debit card and issued me a new one it was worth the wait  Now it would seem they don't know the bank have refunded me as a letter from them arrived saying a company called EXPRESS FINANCED LOANS would be willing to lend me the money CRAP AND MORE CRAP:rotfl::rotfl: Speak to your bank;s fraud dept and see if they can help you.
GOOD LUCK:j0 -
I have to say I find it very worrying that these people are still being allowed to trade given the amount of people on here who have been conned out of their money. I have the same story, applied for a loan, was told I was accepted, paid the £49.50 'admin fee' to process the loan and got nothing back from them but a letter passing me on to another brokers as they couldn't match me with a lender. I also want to add that I was perfectly honest with them about my financial situation - which isn't even that bad! I have written to them twice now demanding a refund, and have also reported them to Devon Trading Standards and the FSA but as yet have heard nothing back. I think everyone who is getting scammed by these people needs to write to them demanding a refund and also to contact the FSA, Trading Standards etc. The more people who stand up to them the better, I haven't ever bothered ringing them and from reading some of these posts am glad I haven't - they obviously do not care in the least about any of the people who turn to them for help.
I will also be contacting my banks Fraud Dept as I am with Halifax so thanks for the nod on that. We need to stand up to these people - I feel like bringing this to the attention of Martin himself as it's obviously a national problem - would love to see him on TV slating them!!0 -
have you contacted the Halifax yet?? If so what have they said , the credit people are nothing but crooks they should be shut down they also say they are based in Newton Abbot BUT they are in Bournmouth how people can work for these lepers I have located the so called CEO [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM] and I am waiting for her reply. After researching 'bad credit loans' I have to say they are all crooks with maybe an odd exception.
let us know whats happens maybe if we ALL got together we could get rid of these creeps0 -
Hi there,
I saw your stuff on money super market. I just wondered did you ever get your money? I have just applied and getting bad feelings. I am on a good salary of £2,800 per month but have a few CCJ's. I just wondered if this was like your case???
Cheers,

Hi there,
In response to your question no I did not get the loan and I don't think anyone does, so please do not use these people. They seem to think that everyone on here is bitter because they didn't get a loan because they lied about their circumstances, but I was perfectly honest with them. I have one ccj and one default both of which will drop off in September, other than that my finances are in good order and my disposable income every month is fairly high for what I was wanting to borrow. I have just been on the phone to Halifax to complete a 'debit card point of sale transaction query form'. They are going to temporarily credit me back the £49.50 whilst their dispute team deals with the company. I have reported them to Trading Standards, Devon, as that is the address they give in their correspondence, and also to consumer direct but I have heard nothing back from either of them. The FSA don't deal with this sort of thing and the Financial Ombudsman just sort out disputes which I am doing through my bank so am at a bit of a loss now as to who else I could report them to that might actually do something about it. I don't know how they can just lie outright to people like that.
If you have applied with them I would cancel it as quickly as possible and not use any of these types of companies at all if you can help it.
Good luck everyone and keep me informed about your experiences and outcomes.

Just an extra note to say that I have just been refunded £44.50 by The Credit People. This is minus £5 but at least I have got something back. I had to write 2 letters to them asking for the refund so if anyone else is in the same boat then just persevere! However I think if I had just gone down the bank route I would have got the full amount back so may be worth other people considering this.
