was in zavvi earlier and noticed Disney's Cars was £20 and under the sticker there was an £8 most likely many more items like this in the place.
I'm pretty sure it is illegal to price something up over another label, the previous label has to be removed completely. If not I think you can request to pay the lower price, though I think often they just say no we're no longer selling it.0 -

No that's not true I'm afraid. No shop has to honour the price that is displayed on any item.0 -

I worked at HMV and I can confirm, if we were reducing a price, we could sticker over the previous price, but if we were increasing it, we had to completely remove the previous sticker before putting the new price label on.0 -
Anyone know if they still take Nus discount as extra? ;p even though they on admin, going to town tomorrow hopefully still open0

Didn't have a conversation, the local Marks and Spencers has a habit of opening one hour earlier than other stores which does mean that I can do the shopping in M & S first but sometimes have to wait outside until the other stores open. This time I was checking out their sale poster and noticed a nice reduction on a Wii game. It was at this the shop assistant poked his head out, had a look out the window and then proceeded to stand in front of the poster. I moved to see what he was doing and it was at this point he stick a label over the poster increasing it by £2, then looked back and smiled! Since then I've seen them doing it quite often early Saturday morning.Amazing that they would have a conversation with you explaining that they were changing the prices because it was a weekday, and they would change them back just befoe the weekend..
Surely it wasn't just you seeing someone changing a price (which just happened to be a weekday).. nahh that's really unlikely!
....AND! a member of staff smiling at you when you looked at them doing their work! The cheek of it!.... clearly up to no good!
I also bought a copy of 'An Inconvenient truth' which on visiting on Saturday had inconveniently increased from £3 to £4. Luckly there was still some marked £3 at the back of the pile.
I've also noticed that Zavvi usually has a game of the week offer on like Game does, as the cheap £10 DS games change each week and return to their original price.
It's not just Zavvi, I enter Amazon's prices in their comment section of their wishlist as I notice that their prices on some items fluctuate depending on the day of the week! :eek:0 -

I am guessing that was just to stop people removing the top label to show the cheaper one! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

No they stopped accepting student discount as soon as they went into Administration. A bit silly really as it meant the 10% off everything sale they just had was the same students had been used to anyway. At least now the discounts are getting bigger it doesn't matter as much that theres no student discount.0 -

I guess so. Our in store prices did reflect what suppliers were charging at the time, hence we had a few copies of the same CD at different prices.0 -
Milton Keynes had the following Wii games yesterday - Super Mario Galaxy, Super Paper Mario and Smooth Moves for £24.99 less 20% = £19.99 each :beer:0

Possibly a silly question....but do Zavvi still give their student discount?0
