    Good afternoon Marchies :D

Am happy bunny as it all went really smoothly this morning.......

Got to the Court at around 8:45, signed in and took my seat in the waiting room. The bankruptcy clerk called me at around 9:15 to look over my papers and to pay the fees. (it was quite surreal actually, I was the only woman there amongst about 9 or 10 men!!) I felt like a bit of a div having to affirm out loud in front of the others and thought it sounded a lot like taking marriage vows! I asked the woman if they'd been busy and she told me that I was the 422nd BR to go through Norwich County Court this year

I was then told to sit down again but about 20 mins later, a man came and took me and four others upstairs to another waiting room to wait for the judge. I was only in there for 5 mins before I was called to the judge's office. Maybe it was nerves but I nearly laughed when the "usher" said that I should call the judge "Sir", especially as when I saw him for the first time, I thought he looked a lot like Sir Ian McKellen (:rotfl: )

Anyhow, I took a seat and he started to go through my petition. As mine is fairly straightforward due to having no house, car, assets etc he zipped through it in about two minutes. I was then officially declared bankrupt at 9:45am. He was quite a lovely man really and not the judgemental ('scuse the pun) accusing person I had brewed up in my head.

I then had to return to the office to wait for the clerks to type up the BO. All the people that were in the office originally with me had also come back down to wait for theirs and we were all having a little banter between us which really made the situation feel a lot easier. I finally got this at 10:45am and walked out of the Court with a huge smile on my face.

So, all I have to do now is wait for the OR to ring me tomorrow to arrange an appointment. I was only walking home from the bus stop when I had a call from one of my creditors. I took great pleasure informing them of what I had just been and done and the others are right, you can practically hear their jaw hit the desk......followed by "er....ok, I shall update the notes on your file and you shouldn't receive anymore phonecalls"

Ha ha ha ha - I know it's daft but it made me feel so powerful! :j

Good luck to those who are still waiting, it's definitely worth it.

    Tiggypig x
