  • Well I decided to not bother with the online doo dah and god am I glad about that! Really feel for you ladies who were up half the night (if not all of it) trying to place an order, only to still not be sure if all the stuff will actually arrive.

I planned to get to my store (Chester) as it opened, so I scraped the ice off the car, had palpitations when the stupid engine wouldn't start until the FOURTH time (!!) made my way to Tesco, parked and walked through the store only to find that the back door is actually a fire exit so I had to make a detour. (The back exit of Tesco is yards away from the back exit of Boots..see my plan? lol) Then I get to Boots front entrance which was supposed to open at 8am according to Boots.com, and it didn't open til 8.30!!! Bloody freezing it was and I was subjected to watching the staff walk past with their bags bulging of No 7 things galore. LOL Serves me right! Am gonna email customer services though cos their webby certainly needs updating!

CHESTER has no S & G, no decent No 7 stuff left, no Frizz Ease sets left (bar the blonde hair ones) no Botanics, no Simple stuff, a handful of Bach nighttime things, no FCUK, not much Elle Macperson but lots and lots and lots of Royal Jelly things and some lavender soaps!!! Oh and chester is also the place to visit if you would like one of those daft soft toy dogs perched in a cup with a sachet of drinking choccy....:rotfl: I re-visited in the afternoon after hearing that rumour about stock cages maybe being distributed later in the day and the 6 isles or so of sales stuff was being condensed into erm, 2 rather scant looking ones.....so Chester must be full of some very happy spent up ladies. :T

I got lots of stuff I like the look of, some Frizz Ease box sets (although I wish I'd picked up more, at £2.50 they're great!) got a lovely Botanics Weekend Essentials set and some reflexology socks, LOL. Shame they don't come supplied with a subservient male to sit and massage my feet whilst wearing them!! Got some Angel Fish products, bobbypin 'Life is just a stage' make up set (the one that opens like a wardrobe) Oriental Floral collection in a great re-usable box (am thinking hampers, ha!) a mediterranean set, a Morgan de toi perfume and body lotions set which is a fragrance I already have a bottle of so great deal and loads of other bits and pieces. So maybe none of the big 'wants' like Ruby and No 7 but still lots of really great value stuff which will keep me busy and my house looking like a Boots warehouse all year!

Hope you all manage to get some of what you want. I used one of my blinkies to get a new nail varnish shade called Betty Blues, a really dark blue almost black, from the No 7 counter and I love it, gonna get some more cos I can't use their skincare stuff, doesn't agree with my skin.

Oh nearly forgot there were still some of those St Tropez boxes originally priced at £50 ish in Chester, but people were looking interested so you would have to be quick.
  • i put mine through at full price by mistake, rang them to tell them , and they made me cancel the order and told me to re-order it when the sale comes back online. She didnt know when that will be.
    I don't think I'll bother!
  • Was paying for my stuff at the fragrance counter this morning when I noticed some sets in the make-up section with the little green parcel sticker. Everyone had missed them and they were 75% off too!

I understand why they are doing this, because this is all they have to go on I suppose. But in reality what about all those who were 'hardcore' and were attempting to place orders non-stop for hours. I sat up all night and didn't get my order through until gone 1pm (the only time I stopped trying was when the site was down).

I'm not going to get upset if I don't get what I ordered (and I had order confirmation and my card has already been debited) - I just feel for all those others who, like me, were hardcore and couldn't place an order for love nor money:rolleyes:

Apologies for quoting myself, but DH just pointed out that as I paid for next day delivery that is probably why they have already debited my card.

I have just checked my order status online and it showing as

Order status: Your order is being processed

It is still showing expected delivery date of tomorrow, so will have to wait and see but to be honest I am not holding my breath. Does anyone else have order being processed showing?

Has anyone been to any of the cardiff or swansea stores today?is there any s&g or ruby and millie things left??
    xxx

I was in Cardiff about midday - the shelves were almost empty.

Quite a few St Tropez left and also Hackett sets (few men's toiletries and passport holder [?] in a box, sorry I can't be more specific but I didn't really pay much attention). A couple of Ruby & Millie things but I didn't see any S&G. Some wrapping paper & cards! Lots of Royal Jelly Bath Trio sets but not much else that I can remember. Came away almost empty-handed.

Also lots of those cat/dog mugs (how could I have forgotten those!)
  • sophisticated, there are loads of St Tropez down here - it is the only thing left, if you want to pay postage I can get you a set. PM me if you want.

Thank you very much for your kind offer :) I'm gonna have another hunt in Swansea for one tomorrow, if I'm unlucky I'll get back to you

ADDICTED TO LUSH - Basingstoke at 3pm had no No.7, no botanics, and no Sanctuary to be seen... the shelves seemed really bare, and the sa's said it had been bedlam!

Lots of time delay for men, hackett, and tons of hot choc mugs!

Managed to get some nice kids pj's which were marked at 50% off, but were actually 75% off too! They also had MAM Christmas dummies for 50p on the clearence stand!
    August: £149/£150

    Sept: £200

Quite a few St Tropez left and also Ted Baker sets (few men's toiletries and passport holder [?] in a box, sorry I can't be more specific but I didn't really pay much attention). I wish I was in Cardiff!!!! :(

I forgot to mention earlier what Swansea acutally had when I was in there....

Loads of No7 night eyeshadow things (the ones down to £2.50)
    Boots box of delights ;)
    Funky fondue sets
Absolutely LOADS of some mugs with cuddly cats and dogs
Bach night time sets (on a bottom shelf tucked away)
Lots of haircare sets like JF
Country living sets (I didn't look closely to see what they were) but no christmas hampers (which I'm lusting after and is now oos on .com  )
    Aromatherapy candle stuff

But this was at 10ish and stuff was going fast!

My best buy was 3 x No7 lip glosses for free with 3 blinkies. Several clearance stands dotted around the store. Some reduced Dior (not a great reduction) and pantene sachets in stock.
