Actually royal mail standard parcels will do it for £7.06 -I'm still trying to find it for $5 but no look yet!!!

You'll probably find that the sellers on eBay with £5 P&P are big time sellers who have postage / courier accounts (= discount prices not available to the "one-off" seller). (Or they may be deliberately understating P&P to improve their visibility, or to improve their DSRs, or...) The £7.92 you quote for DHL sounds about right for a "one-off" price, althou in your shoes I'd use Royal Mail ;)

Quick question, we sent a few deliveries via Shipping Manager/DHL and one of the items failed to be delivered and a card left. The item was released form storage and delivery attempted again - ditto another card left. So how long can this go on (early stages I know), but is there a limit on attempted deliveries before the item is returned??
What is the worst case scenario with this??

I'm pretty sure it's 3 delivery attempts before it gets returned to you. It should say in their Terms & Conditions?

    Hi

I'm hoping to win something on ebay but need to use a courier to pick it up from the seller (Midlands) and deliver to London.

Have never used a courier service before and am a bit nervous about getting it wrong!

Please can anyone suggest which company would be best? I'm more interested in a reliable, smooth pick up/delivery even if it means paying a few extra pounds.

    Details
Length: Approx 130cm, width approx 20cm, weight about 7g.
There will be 6 of the above

Would each 1 item be treated individually or can I get the whole 6 picked up together for one fee (or would they all need to be packaged together - so it would be one 130cm long package but quite chunky width-wise?

I know I should check the collection time and ensure the seller will be available and that they've packaged the goods well - anything else I should be concerned about though?

Many thanks in advance for any help.

    Hi

Is it 130cm x 20cm x 20cm and 7Kg? If so the volume would be tiny, so possible you could maybe tape 3 together and the other 3 together and send them as 2 separate parcels.

I've used collectmyparcel.com for parcels of that length so I don't think it should be an issue? They charge £8.75 so you'd be looking at £17.50.

I hope I'm right on that, sorry if I'm totally wrong.

UPS the best company? - If so please someone advise how I can find a service who offer them cheap. Interparcel do not seem to offer this service despite a previous comments suggesting they do.

Any ideas/experience re deliveries to RUSSIA (St Petersburg)? 12k (45x35x35cm-ish) parcel. Parcelforce not keen - absolutely no compensation of any kind. Cheapest I have found is Fast Lane International / We Deliver The World - Insurance quote via WDTW also seems very reasonable. Too good to be true?
    Their web site looks impressive.
2 reviews on other sites - one 2008 (badly written) very bad - then another site 2 (both in February 2009 - shld I be suspicious?) saying how good they are.

Try FreightSearch for Euro DHL deliveries. Best prices that I can find from a reliable service, about £12. Fairly cheap to insure too. (Parcel2go complete rip off on insurance!!)

    Hi

Interparcel definitely have UPS it's called Interparcel Economy. What are the dimensions of your parcel? Maybe it's too large for the UPS service?

AH ok! I didn't realise that Interparcel Economy was UPS. I will give this a go and feedback my experience for anyone else interested in the service.

    Thanks Jordanryan :)

Checked Freightsearch but the quote I got was for £72+, looks like it will be Transglobal Express, all their options are cheaper and claim to be faster.

Fastlane International still cheapest by far but can't find any reliable recommendations (see blogs mentioned previously)
  • I am selling a triple buggy on ebay and a lot of people want me to post. Would rather not but equally want to sell it.

It would be two parcels - the largest being 22kg 90x80x50cm. Never used a courier before and have been searching but the item seems to exceed everyone's limits.

    Suggestions and advice most welcome!
