I use collectmyparcel.com they only charge £8.75 for their DHL48 before them I used Parcel Tree. I was told back then that something like 96% of DHL 48 get there next day.

I'm trying to use "Interparcel" to send a couple of itmes using their £6.99+vat service and it's asking for a tel. No. I don't have the persons tel. No., so how do I get around this??

Edit: Went via "Shipping Manager" linked via ebay account - seems a great service.

  • Here is a question for you guys. I want to use Interparcel to collect my item but it measures: 140x45x45.

If I put those exact dimensions in it quotes me roughly £30-40 (Seems to make the prices up as it goes along).

If I were to "Slim" the measurements to 140x40x40 it goes down to £8! So what do I do? Do I take the chance? It says on their site if the dimensions are incorrect I am liable for the extra charges and a £15 admin fee but if I pay using PayPal how they going to get the cash from me?

    Any thoughts please.

    Thanks

Try parcel cheap - cubic capacity should suit.

Had a call from Freightsearch thanking me for my business and saying rates are shooting up from Friday for DHL deliveries in the UK and they will no longer be competitive. I liked Freightsearch - sorry to see this happen.

Well I have booked it with Express Packages so I'll see what they are like. Fingers crossed.

(Armitage - or anyone else who has used them - there weren't any labels to print off and attach to the parcel - how does the paperwork work with these guys? Can I just leave the parcel on doorstep for collection like I do with DHL guy? Will they leave me a copy of the paperwork / tracking #?)

Well, just to report that parcel was duely collected, althou by interlink not DPD who for some reason I had been expecting - parcel was delivered 1pm following day, online tracking very quick & I think I would use this service again.

Anyone else had a few issues with Lowcostparcel?

Ordered 3 deliveries to be picked up Tuesday and the driver gave me a barcode type receipt with only 1 of the 10 being used (for all 3). Yesterday then went to type in the code not known, phoned fedex they dont know. They did not even had anything coming from my house going to the senders places.

So emailed them yesterday and today and no reply, so back on the phone to fedex still nothing. So they gave me my local branch phoned them and they checked yes its all there (thank god) and gave me proper tracking numbers. They said the give alot of jobs to the driver when he is out on the road so they use a back up book which is then transfered to the proper tracking number. He checked and all 3 were delivered yesterday.

I know this looks like fedex problems, but normally LCP email you the tracking number on either fedex, dhl or parcelforce (have used al 3) but i got nothing for these 3.

Just wondering are these having problems or is it a sign to stop using them?

^It's FedEx, our area is that bad they driver doesn't have a scanner, nor does the local depot. Only when it reaches a sorting hub do they get scanned.

It's was common for parcels to take 3 days before anything showed on tracking. Even then it would say the pick date was 3 days after it was actually collected!
