    Where to? :)

    Good point!

It is going to the USA!
Interparcel, their US rates start from around £20.

Slight problem here; if you spend below £15,000 per annum then you have to pay for the collection service which starts at £450 per annum:

Otherwise you just drop the mail sacks off at the PO, no major drama I'd of thought as that's a trip one you would of probably been making before anyway.

the price will depend on your parcel dimensions, volume & how much insurance you require. I think it will be cheaper to send two parcels at 20kg each. Here is a list of the current best offers:

Perfect post creditcrunchy, thanks so much!

I quite often arrange collections from another address to be delivered to myself, so I think I'll probably use UPS for collections from me, since I can print the label off and stick on the box, and Parcel2Go DHL 1-3 which is a penny cheaper, for collections from another address to be delivered to myself since all they need to do is address the box.

My experience of dealing with UPS has always been 100% positive.

    Cheers!

    Best deals to Portugal are:
    www.parcelmachine.com with DPD
    www.interparcel.com with DHL
    approx £16 + VAT.

If you want to drop the parcel off at a depot then it's best to use DHL. Make sure you contact your local depot to let them know you will be dropping it off.

Thanks i have gone with DHL via Interparcel £16 + VAT - 5% Quidco. Contacting the local depot is a bit of a trial though ! Had to go through an 0870 number to confirm which branch would be collecting , they wouldnt give me the phone number for them but did transfer me , the local depot then told me that i need to call the 0870 number again to inform them because a central hub sends the collection requests direct to the driver, i gave up at this point !
    WHOOOOSHHHHHHHHH……..
    Blimey what was that ?
    That was your life mate
Oh I wasn’t quite ready can I have another go ?
Sorry mate only one per person.
  • I thought all DHL collection requests went through the local depot first. Maybe they have impoved their system but I doubt it. Let me know the location of your local depot & I will post the depot phone number? Your best bet is to contact the local depot direct, they should be able to get a message to the driver. Alternatively go to the depot straight away so you can talk to them face to face. If the driver attempts a collection you will have to book it again.
  • Any suggestions for savings on a parcel 11" x 5" weighing 507g to the Caribbean. Royal mail costs it at £6.70

now i may be a bit thick but in the above post, you refer to quid co, what is this as i use interparcel to, but have not seen /been told about quidco
  • http://www.quidco.com/ is a website that will pay you for buying products or services via partner websites. Sign up for a Quidco account & then simply search for the website you want to use such as Interparcel. You then click a link that will take you to the website you want to buy from & then just buy or book as normal. You will receive a percentage cash back or a set price cash back depending on the offer.

It's an affiliate system, Quidco gets paid for sending buying customers to the partner websites & you get paid a percentage for helping them do it.

Thanks. The main 0870 number told me the Newport depot would be collecting my parcel, they did say they would try to get a message to the driver anyway.
I came home today to find a failed collection card from the .... Nantgarw ( Cardiff) Depot !
