Well I managed a NSD yesterday :j despite sore temptation to go out to lunch.
And when we loaded DS2's stuff into DD's car at the weekend I gained 37p in coins. I use found coins to pay for my coffee at drama club, so only 3p more to find and I have this week freeThat means today has a good chance of being a NSD too.
Had a LONG chat with sis last night and discovered that Popeye had been lobbying friends & family to persuade me that family would be all right if I left them to live in Africa.......:o Popeye isn't usually that cunning
DD returns tomorrow and a Boot fair is def. looming0 -

Aged P has e-mailed me following an e-bay crisis yesterday (had he been scammed? Not if he didn't reply.......) He's decided that having £,000s in his current account would be unwise, so he's off to move it where it will earn a fracton of a percent instead. At flippin' last!0 -
Well, yes, it is .... but its for a *good* reason
And hurray to aged P's learning about savings accounts!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Had another chat with sis yesterday and invited her to visit when I live out there. She said "only if you're actually going" and I realised that actually (please excuse me Obama) Yes I am. The agreement with Popeye was 2 years of this existence, then either he comes home or I retire and join him.
When I told him about the chat (awful mobile phone conversations this week as he is on the road and has no access to a computer) I could tell how chuffed and happy he was with this decision.I wish I felt as upbeat about it as everyone else seems to be. (Perhaps they're just glad to be shot of me) It just feels, as other life-changing decisions that have been made recently, that I'm doing the "right" thing, and not what I want.
It's not that I don't want to be with Popeye - the exact opposite really. It is *I think* that the choice has been made by others as to what I do with my life. (How horrid to liken Popeye to "others") A bit like being in debt - it controls you. I mean, whereas money/emigration can be empowering, when they are out of your own control they are not.
Not sure if I've explained myself clearly(Who wanted to be a writer???)

Well I'm happy for you. It doesn't *sound* out of your control, Olive -as you say, this is the agreement you made. It sounds like this is not the result you expected, you expected him to come home. Does that make sense?
And I think so many people are pleased for you because it really shines out of most of your posts, about how much you miss him. And he misses you. You really love one another, and financially its do-able for you to be out there. It might delay the debt free date, but so what? Who knows whats around the corner? If you're analysing the situation and covering yourselves, then please, Olive, let yourself be happy about it. You worry about the debt, of course you do - think of it this way, if you're out there, he won't be spending crazy money on posh seats for things, like the other week.
I was doing some analysis of my money situation the other day, and realised that if I'd kept up my previous behaviour of thinking about risk and taking considered risks, I wouldn't be in the situation I am today - I'm where I am right now because I tried to play it safe. Too safe, and it came back and bit me. Do the sums, and go for it, honestly.
