sounds a bit worrying Wol poor piggies,
Hi Olive, just wanted to pop in and say hi and I sort of nderstand,
I live with Mum, my sister lives 5 mins away and pops over twice a week for a couple of hours,
mum is on her own for maybe 8-10 hours a day, on the days when I work longer hours, my sister has now stopped phoning her (she rings everyday to chat mostly about herself) cos "mum hasn't had dinner......... so many things need fixing and doing around the house.... oh and my sister and her partner have both given up work.
I think about moving out and then I think Mum would just be even more reclusive and miserable then she already is. I know what you mean - a little at least. its so tough sometimes to have mange it all.
so many hugs (((((((((hugs))))))))))))
xxxNevertheless she persisted.0 -
Hi Olive! Hi Wol! The poor piggies.... glad they got calmed down a bit.
Olive - its so worrying about elderly parents, isn't it. My mum is much more capable than yours, she has no sign of any sort of mental problem, eg if she's on the phone she has to tell people she's 83, otherwise she sounds like she's in her 50s, she doesn't have an "elderly voice" either. But she's over 300 miles away, on her own, and she's in hospital on Monday for skin cancer. My brother will look after her for her first night home, he's 'only' an hour's drive away, and my bereaved sister will go up to take over, as her school is finished by then. All this was sorted out before my mum rang to tell me about the times and dates last night. And I feel bad because I'm the one *not* going up there3 days after my sister comes back down south, she and I are going to their house in France, which will be the first time she's been there since her husband died. All this about skin cancer has blown up so quickly, we've not been able to take account of it properly
I do feel like giving up sometimes, I must say.

Apologies KC, I was writing a really long and involved reply about family worries, and aged P's in particular whilst at work. Unfortunately work intruded and I lost my post  Hugs, and plod on would be a summary
Then we had final dress rehearsal last night, and we're opening tonight so I've got rush out again
Thanks for all your kind words

Hi Olive - no problems, I know you're not on all day every day. I've spoken to my mum again since I posted that, she's got lots of nervous energy and is just trying to get things straight in the house so she has to do as little as possible. Thank god she's got the money to stock the freezer with nice quality ready meals, thats all I can say.
Glad your performance went well - and I think a glass of wine in the interval is de rigueur, no?2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
And I've got a 20p coin without a date :j:j:j
so is it worth £50 or is it worth more??
And there's a barbeque at work at lunchtime, so if I avoid a wine at the interval tonight it is going to be a great MSE day:D
Aren't I cheap?
We went to the pub afterwards and I had a tap water :rotfl: they thought I was mad, but it was what I wanted and it means I don't owe anyone a drink0 -
Are you sure? You know the date is on the other side, on the queen's head side? But thats great!2023: the year I get to buy a car0

:rotfl:easy come easy go.
I hadn't realised it was on the *rim* bit :rotfl::rotfl:I thought it was in the same place, next to her head.
And I was just thinking how much I hate e-bay but I would deal with it.......
oh the public humiliation0
