How lovely SA, beats wintery Cornwall..but was lovely seeing DD1 and just having some girly time together. Hope everyone is well..i am sure Ampersand we can keep nattering on Olive's thread whilst she is away..would be a shame not to.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
Ere; I haven't gone yet :rotfl:
And I'll have Popeye's laptop to play with (oooh er) while I'm away

It's late, you're not here so I shall confess that I have been spending today
One of THE biggest things that has helped me down this DFW path has been to STOP buying stuff. Occasionally though I have a splurge, though it is for a lot less money, and a a lot less often. I can almost smell the finishing post, so why do I not stay focussed on it?
So today I have bought:- curtains for DS2's bedroom - £22.95 in the Argos sale.
- watch to replace my lost one £15.95 (also Argos)
- went to Tesco to get the hooks that Argos have sold out of, but they didn't have any so bought a jumper I'd admired earlier this week £20
- And bought some decorative bits I'd admired before Christmas reduced now to £10.50 from £21.00
Add to that the interest incurred this week £9.95 and this week I'm back to wasting moneyIt's not as if I've made this month comfortable - the budget is tight because of clearing that credit card.
Enough of the hair shirt!
I'm going to blow Popeye's budget to b*ggry over the next week or two, so my budget should be safe  (he'll get his revenge @ Easter :rotfl:)0 -
Olive,
With the exception of the jumper, you bought things that were needed - the jumper.....well, we all have to have atreat now and then don't we? Particularly when your loved one is millions of miles
There now I've just given you your excuse for spending today, does that helpChristians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org0 -
Just popped on for a read and to say hi xxxx
My OH is only 300 miles away - can't imagine him being as far away as Popeye....xxxxTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:

You forgot the decorative bits - but I was celebrating having a clear hall at last and they look nice on the chest of drawers :rotfl:
And some of my jumpers that I've been wearing this week I'd be embarrassed to put in the charity shop :rotfl:
DS2's curtains are thicker and nicer than his old ones, shame to spoil the room with its new carpet and all.
And I needed a new watch
Oh justifying the spend is easy - I've been doing it for years. But at the back of my mind is a sensible voice saying "That's about £100 pre tax earnings spent today, on stuff that wasn't entirely necessary"
And we'd better have another cold snap in March or I'll only get a couple of days wear out of that new jumper :rotfl:0 -

Popeye said to me the other night
"when we celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary we will have been living like this for 18 months, which is about 25% of our married life"
This really depressed me.
But having typed that, I've checked the figures and the boy is a fool! It is only 16% of our married life :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
