The problem is that unhappy customers will always moan somewhere on the web, but happy customers tend to not bother mentioning it.

I'd treat the rate your isp results with caution, If my use of the adsl speed test is replicated.. I confess to clicking anything to get past that screen, it becomes an annoyance after you have done it a few times.

as well as intel's tips, a https://www.ccleaner.com is a good idea, but more ram is probably the best bet if your new PC is slow.

Wanadoo are currently doing up to 8 meg (depending on where you live, I only get 2 meg) for £14.99 month for 6 months and then £17.99.
Been with them for years and have had no problems.

Agreed. However it's a bigger sample size than recommendations/flames on here. If I were considering a shortlist I would go to the adslguide forums for each one - it does give you a feel to a degree of how things are going. I'd also check reviews elsewhere such as ispreview.

If you are still on dial-up, it may not be upto date.., some updates are quite hefty for dial-up.

Goto windowsupdate.com to check, is your PC setup for automatic updates, (Control panel, security center).
