Wanadoo are currently doing up to 8 meg (depending on where you live, I only get 2 meg) for £14.99 month for 6 months and then £17.99.

Agreed. However it's a bigger sample size than recommendations/flames on here. If I were considering a shortlist I would go to the adslguide forums for each one - it does give you a feel to a degree of how things are going. I'd also check reviews elsewhere such as ispreview.

If you are still on dial-up, it may not be upto date.., some updates are quite hefty for dial-up.
Goto windowsupdate.com to check, is your PC setup for automatic updates, (Control panel, security center).
