Why is everyone attacking AOL? I have been a happy AOL customer (AOL Gold plus) for almost 6 years. I have AOL on my desktop, my laptop and my PDA! It's actually quite easy to remove AOL from your computer even if you only have basic computer knowledge. AOL doesn't have connection problems, no download limits, fantastic content, the best chat rooms and I feel the best customer service. Millions of satisfied customers world wide cannot be wrong! AOL takes me all over the world, I have broadband at home, wireless on my Laptop and I can dial-up free of charge from any phone line anywhere in the United Kingdom. No other provider does this. AOL is the best.~What you send out comes back to thee thricefold!~~0

If not which router can i use? I don't want to spend no more than that one is.
What other broadband companys are there, i hear and have read so many horror stories about it some advice would be good. I have drawn up a list of 3:
Talk talk
AOL
Tiscali
Good points and bad would be appreciated.
I did look on the stick thread about wireless but couldn't find anything on routers with aol.
Thanks Neil
You ever want any help with AOL and wireless routers with AOL pm me, I'll help. Before you move to a lesser provider to save maybe a few pounds and get lower service, hardly any content and certainly connection problems, look further at AOL and make your own mind up.

Using eclipse at present and speeds are fine. If you check out ADSLGuide.org they are consistantly out-performing other ISPs in speed tests. I will say one thing though, they tend to be more expensive.0

If you want to save money, sign up with virgin for one month then immediately get your MAC and migrate for free to IDNet or Eclipse 2 meg for free. In fact Eclipse will also give you the first month for free. NewNet will charde £12 to migrate.

Anyone who thinks that AOl is easy to remove from a pc can never have tried it! This is only a minority thing, I know, but when I was studying with the OU, and this was after abandoning AOL, I noticed that there were many occasions when AOL users needed special instructions, or indeed could not access the OU software at all. If you check the OU forums they are full of people having problems with AOL.
Shame, really, otherwise it's not a bad provider, they just can't resist taking over your pc.0
