ah really want to see them paddington- need some inspiring for valentines on what the bairn can make

Jammy << big hugs>> you talk about it whenever you want. Cancer is a big crappy horrible disease. It took my mam away from me (who was my best friend too) I'm only 31 - I should still have my mam with me...it's awful news to be told but you're right you put on a brave face because you have to - you'll amaze yourself at how brave you can be-I was never one for coping well with things but cos it was my mam I was the strong one - it's made me a stronger person. I was strong for mam but I balled my eyes out once I got home and I came on here a lot and people were helpful to me. When hospital tells you there is nothing they can do it's horrible - but we found such strength from all the staff at st.clares who help you come to term with things - mam only had a couple of weeks though after she'd fought breast, bone and liver cancer for 4 years. Use the time you have and fill it with wonderful things you can remember for years to come.

Don't hold back on here- as me just being able to share the last paragraph with you helps me.

I'm just a lurker but wanted to say what beautiful work - you are so clever!!
  • Paddington Your box is brilliant!! Such love and thought has gone into that and it is a perfect gift.

Sarah We had new central heating put in with the combi boiler and ever since we have had nothing but problems. I can't even run a bath because it doesn't stay hot for long enough. Apparentely the motherboard keeps breaking and he said we was the third one he had done that day. Rubbish. Hope you get it fixed soon and also.. I hope you are doing good x

Scattymam I just want to give you a big hug. I am so sorry you lost your mom at such a young age. I really love your rolo idea, you have so much creativity and amazing ideas :T

Jammy I don't even know where to begin. You never know how long someone will be in your life for and it is hard when they are taken away by a disease.. it feels like you are powerless and you are stuck in a nightmare. I know this is rubbish but all I can say is ride it out. There is nothing that will heal your heart and nothing that can make you feel better other than time. I promise you that one day in the not so distant future you will be able to talk about your grandad without the hurt and feel able to celebrate his life without the overshadowing of his death. Don't concentrate on cancer and count his days, concentrate on making the most of every day he is alive. Don't overwrite your happy memories of him with ones of seeing him hooked up to machines etc Tell him how you feel now and don't feel you need to be there at the end. The hospital will make sure he never feels any pain and is always in a state of happiness and tranquility.. I think that is a good way to go.. Like falling to sleep. I hope this makes any sense to you and you will PM me if you need me. It will always hurt, allow yourself to hurt because it is right x I think a valentines night is just what you need. I am sure your grandad would just want to see his girl having a wonderful night with a man who loves her and takes care of her rather than seeing her miserable doing nothing x

Jamtart I know I'm just another random person on here! But I wanted to send you a very big hug, I lost my grandfather last May through Cancer so know how difficult this time must be for you and all your family, All I can say to you is stay strong, enjoy every minute you can with him the one thing that I was so glad I did was produce a DVD of pictures of all our family from when he and my nan were young right up to the great-grand children it was they're 50th wedding anniversary last march so I did it for that and I'm so glad I did I put some old music on there and some family quotes, my grandfather watched it everyday and he told me it was the nicest present he had ever had and I'm so proud of that. My eyes are starting to fill up now, but it's a happy sad if that makes sense.
I also arranged a sponsored cycle to raise money for Cancer research we raised £2,000. Sorry for rambling on. x
    :xmassmile Looking forward to December:xmassmile
  • Thanks cbsexec plm and scatty. I can cut square squares with my new guillotine! - it's amazing how much easier it's made making stuff

We've already done the rolo thing - I have a silver one in a box.

More hugs jammy - wise words once again from plm - I know how you feel scatty I lost my dad to cancer when I was 14 and my mum didn't explain to me what was happening so when he lost the battle it took a very long while to get over and has caused problems for years between us. It's such an unfair disease my next door neighbour was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer last year and I find it really hard to speak to her sometimes as I feel so sorry for her

Thanks for the offer rusty - if you're sure you don't mind I may just take you up on that for the next ones - you might want to remove your email address from your post though before you get spammed to bits :o (I've saved it)

Here's OH's birthday card (only took 3 hours for photobucket to play ball

  • cbsexec How dare you lurk LOL come out from the shadows and join us crazy people :j

mum2one Your story really made me laugh. Sounds dangerous climbing out of windows!! I have just read back and saw your satnav story hahaa!! Your dad sounds like such a star. You know I live right by Wolverhampton uni, we should meet up at Hobbycraft together sometime x

Rusty I am 25 too!! I always get screened for surveys and then get told I am entered into a prize draw LOL You produce gorgeous things all the time BTW and I love your new dolls house.. that is going to be LUSH when it is done! I would paint the roof pink and have cream and pink interiors with pearly glitter glue added to the wallpapers:rotfl: (I like pink and glitter:o )

Aurora You are so lovely thank you so much for making me feel brilliant today! I am glad you enjoy reading my posts because I enjoy yours too and it is almost like I am popping round to a hundred friends houses every day :rotfl: Here is the valentines 5ivers thread: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=680621

Rainmac Valued opinions sounds brilliant, thank you so much for the link.

Orchid-96 Sorry that It has took me so long to reply. Thank you for your kindness about my blog and I am glad you enjoyed it x You can ask me anything you need to get you started I am always happy to spread the crafting bug :D You can buy actual scrapbooks in the size you wish to scrap, usually 6x6 8x8 or 12x12 that are full of page protectors in to hold your work. These can be ringbound, post bound (posts that you unscrew to add more plastic page protectors in) or D ring (like a folder) style. I usually use a piece of cardstock as my base and then add to this with patterned papers and embellishments, building around my photographs. Scrapbooking is about preserving memories and unleashing your creativity. You can just pick up an old kids book and cover it in paper and memories if that is what you want. There are no rules :)

MHagster You got the photographs all printed out.. that is the hardest part.. now lets see them pages :D I can't wait to see what you produce and I bet it felt wonderful to have all your pictures printed.

Scattymam (again lol) I just read what you put about our feelings. I would never not like you unless you was a horrible person and I get the feeling you really aren't xx I can't wait to meet you and you should realise there are some people in the world that think you are so special just for who you are. (says I) because I think you are. :A

rufusdog I am sorry you had a bad weekend and I hope you feel better now. My PM inbox is always there for you, you are never a burden x Well done on your catalogue bargain :)

manson666 (LOVE that name!!) Thanks a lot for stopping to tell me. It always makes me feel a ton better to have someone make the effort to say such lovely things. You are wonderful :j

Goochie Ah please don't use what I put on my blog to put a face to my name.. unless you used my photograph that is haha!! It is kind of my diary so sometimes I sound a little crazy. Boots have special points days a few times a year and these are rarely advertised. The best thing to do it order online if you have items that can't be reduced down with coupons and glitches. Best place to check is the Boots thread.. theyre insane on there!:rotfl:

LuvBargains I love your Spiderman socks idea.. May need to keep my eye out for some of them for OH I think you should use the money to treat yourself on valentines :rotfl: It is only fair!! Well done on such a briliant weight loss!!

Still more to go but got to do the kids dinners LOL BRB!!

Wow guys it's taken me ages to catch up with this thread and so much has happened since I was last here!

i wished I had taken notes now as i can't remember everything I wanted to say and everyone I wanted to talk to!!

Jammy I am thinking of you!! It is a really difficult time at the moment, my brother in law died of a brain tumour and he was dad to 4 wonderful children and it had a really devastating affect on so many in the family. We all found it incredibly difficult watching him get worse but we were there for each other. It didn't stop us crying and being miserable but equally we had some of the funniest times during that period too!! Big hugs xxx

Rusty loving that house and looking forward to the interior decorating!!

I actually must dash been sat here since about 5.30 am and it's now gone 7 am and we're off to swim with dolphins today!! Looks like I'm not going to get to do any shopping here as the time is running out so that's a bit disappointing but that's what happens when you're sick for 2 days too!!

Hugs to all today and hope to catch up with you all properly soon xxx
