Oh good I'm glad its not just me! none of my friends are this seriously into a relationship and i have no idea what it is supposed to be like!! dont get me wrong we do argue a bit but only like anyone else would. the house is just ridiculous - if i say black he says white!!!! Oh well im sure it'll work itself out! sorry to be off topic!!

back to thrifty gifty - i was planning a romantic takeaway for 2 in our building site home for valentines day (if he makes it that long!!!) and was going to decorate the room (before we decorate!!) and get a dvd to watch on my laptop and maybe even camp over! we havent stayd in our house yet...! does that sound cheesy??

:ABeing Thrifty Gifty again this year:A

  • The question is PLM, did you have fun? If yes, then it was worth it! Especially as it isnt a regular thing. If no, then hang your head in shame, lol.

Don't worry Sparrar, they're picking up my MIL first, she's on her (trying to work out) 4th laptop in 4 years, all bought on credit from catalogues without going through quidco  I've given up on her!

awwww (((((Jammy))))) is there no way you guys can say "sod it" for 1 evening a week/fortnight & spend it doing sumit nice together, even if its cuddling up to watch some tv, something you both would like to watch.

I'm currently taking my lunch break as I'm about 1/2 way through sorting out my craft/bill/pressie cupboard, I decided it needed reorganising so I can get the stuff I use a lot without causing an avalanche. LOs enjoying it as well, he's picking up the spilt beads & putting them in a box that he can then close & rattle.

"Falling off the MSE bandwagon" - I feel so much better now! This month I have bought: a bag I totally didn't need (but have been lusting after for ages), a pair of boots (reduced to £7.50 though) two magazines (why do they seem to come in pairs?) and some more crafty stuff. AND we're having takeaway tonight. eeek!

However, on the positive front, I have bought birthday present for MIL £8.58 s'be £22 and birthday present for friends daughter £3.75 s'be £15. I made MIL card and found the other in my nearly sorted stash.

Also got a £15 Lush bag this morning and have worked it out to be worth £49.79 including four gift sets so another few prezzies (and a couple of treats for me) sorted there.

    A mixed January I feel...

PS Jamtart, 'outdoor voices' made me smile, just remember that men have no idea when it comes to either weddings or houses so you'll end up with things the way you want them anyway. Go out tonight and ban talk of either and ENJOY YOURSELVES!!!

well at least one of us has been thrifty and gifty!
I bought really nice toilet bag/vanity case for 10p each in superdrug this morning! 40p spent! and they had hairbands and bobble packs for 10p and french nail polish kits for 10p. wow! and 2 camera spools for 10p!
Then we went next door to Oxfam to buy red noses and I saw a gorgeous black leather bag, which looks brand new , for £4.99....borrowed from my 12 year old and bought me a new bag!

Must get crafty, I need to make invites for my 40th sometime soon!

Julie - i have a £5 one going spare if that's any help, i got quite a lot in it but i must add i was alittle dissapointed as they didn't wrap the santa bombs etc so there was loose bits in the bottom.

I will have to find it and i will post exactly what is in there and how much. Just let me know :D

I am sorry but I have been smiling at the stories on here today.. because it all sounds so familiar!! PML?PLM I think we all have days like that ie the day my hubby gave the kids Mario Cart game for the WII for no particular reason, when I had been budgeting and trying to do the presents myself! He does do this just sees something and gets it tho only if he know it's a good price!! He went out last weekend and paid over £300 for a digital camera that's compatible with his SLR kit!!! Arghhh!! Meanwhile in another shop at the same time I was buying some sunglasses to replace my lost prescription ones, I thought they would be fairly cheap but ended up spending about £150 Argghhhh!!! (I did use a money off voucher printed off the internet tho'!!)

Also men are just different creatures from us on so many different levels. I asked DH if he would give me a lift to a friends on Monday night as we're going to see 7 brides for 7 brothers (my fav musical!!) and we ended up having a row about why I couldn't drive there myself!!

I do feel lucky tho' as I have just said on UKS I have won 2 lots of blog candy in 1 week so I'm very excited!! Will have to do lots of crafting on my return from my hols. Got a friend house sitting so she's gonna have lots of parcels arriving!!

Off to a party with the kids tonight should be fun!! Enjoy your Saturday nights all. Oh also I've completed my qype revies so feeling very virtuous now!!

    Hugs xxx
  • Hello everybody

I am not Pinkladymel. She has been taken captive and this crazy woman (me) has taken over her. I must be stopped.

Yesterday I had a packet of fish fingers in my hand that my son wanted for dinner and pasta for my daughter. I PUT THEM BACK... And took the kids OUT for the EXACT same meals! For a normal pub meal it cost me 32 pounds! I did not care because I then took them to the whacky warehouse and bought Lee a coffee as well.

The madness does not end there.

After this I took the kids to McDonalds for an ice cream sundae which were 99p EACH even though we were right next to TESCO. I had one too.

Whilst we had our dinner I commited an awful crime. I gave the kids their star presents that were searched high and low for, for Emilys birthday - A Jess doll for Emily and a Woody for Logan. It is not her birthday until 15th Feb and now I will have to buy her something else spectacular.

This madness ended with a totally out-of-my-way trip to WHSmith where I bought not one.. but TWO magazines!! TWO! and some Foxes glacier fruits. Then I popped to Primark by accident and some things jumped in my basket for Emily.

If I didn't buy them it would be stealing as they wouldn't go back on the shelves..

I don't know who I am anymore. I think I should be banished from Moneysavers. I am a walking sin, a disgrace.

    Someone stop this madness.

PLM - it got me too!!!! I went to Lakeside AND Bluewater on my birthday, and i spent £200!!!!   On items because it was my birthday and OH spent £118 on clothes for me (would have been £158 but got 25% discount so MSE??:o ) i went completely mad last night and went to pizza hut with OH and friends AND then watched a film.

No the madness doesn't end there either, Thursday i have a hair appointment with my favourite hairdresser Toby and its going to be cut and coloured, but guess how much it is going to cost?......................................
£90!!!!!!!!1:eek:
I know i have been too frivolous with my money but i have to admit i have only done it this once and i have put a lot of birthday money away in the pot.

With that £200 i got 3x£15 Lush grabbit bags and 2x£5 Lush grabbit bags most for birthday pressies, which i thought was very mse:money: considering how much i had spent :o clever me :rotfl:

I am so hyper, were staying at the hotel I've stayed at b4, when we were in Tesco earlier, why do shops only presume u need school uniform in July, Aug + Sept, luckly managed to get some polo shirts, (thats digressing), and she asked could she have a neck pillow and eye mask for the flight, (fly at 6.30am or sumthing like that)), it was only 98p so cant complain. xx

I am so tired, I had 2 hours sleep last night then my daughter was crying at 6am so I am ZONKED!!

Life is for living and I am enjoying myself. Need to tighten the reigns a bit now I have had some fun and start saving for some home essentials that need doing. Like flooring... *blush*

Might accidentally pop into Telford town centre today for a lush bag...

Going to see Twilight.. I am so excited!! If I don't fall to sleep!!
