And I'm well chuffed as I'm still nuetral..... I did feel I was being a bit cheap the other day but then thought NO, I'm saving money for me and my Family, what I've got it good stuff and is worth a lot more than I paid for it. So What if I've not spent what I normally do.
Sarah - there is no need to feel like that - as you said - you are saving money for you and your family, good on you - well done!!!

I think that counts towards being money neutral, I count my penny collecting as mn, I collect the whole year and then sort it into those small money bags you can get from the bank, and take them to the bank to be paid in or get cash.0 -
Thank you for your replies - I feel better now - and I did put a bit of effort into the card! The great declutter 2010Money neutral and thrifty gifty for Christmas 2010 :xmassmile0

my easter idea - I'm going to make t-shirts for the girls and use asda t-shirts@70p and add the transfers myself, gonna do Hello Kitty I think cos all the girls are very into them - can get transfers for about £1.50 on ebay. Then pop in the basket(already have) wrapped in tissue paper with some cheap eggs - like home bargains had 49p bioxes with some small eggs in that I could scatter in the basket around the t-shirt - that's my vision and very cheap too. May jazz up the baskets with ribbon, etc;
I know there are very cheap eggs to be had in the supermarkets but I like to do something different.0 -
Wish I could do something different for easter but the kids would string me up, lol, Easter for us is normally a walk to either the inlaws or my moms, admiring the new wildlife on the way, having a full roast dinner, with all the trimmings, & we changing eggs. As theres now so many kids in the family we all agree to just buy eggs for them. After Easter I bake things like chocolate nests with the kids, uses up some of the choccy & gives them something a little different to eat.
Sarah, I feel your desperation, no coffee, aghhhhh, that would be like me running out of cola :eek:
PLM, they still have grabbit bags in Telford if you still want one.
Aurora glad your jobs still ok.
Jammy, OHs answer was "I'll believe its worth it when you can get that amount of pressies for £60" - looks like I'll be showing him my spreadsheet at the end of the year! But it must be rubbing off on him as he's got himself a tin, he gets £15 a week for lunches at work, so he's popping out once a week to buy a large bottle of pop, soups, pot noodles etc & anything left over goes in the tin. He's also decided that we are no longer having chippy night (my night off cooking), he'll buy the ingredients & cook it, anything left out of that £15 also goes in the tin. All this is to go towards valentines day.You cant take a step forward with both feet on the ground0 -
sylph - Ooh that sounds like a challenging war cry from your OH. I think we should ALL send him our spreadsheets!!
sarahf - totally up to you about the money. I wouldn't include it in mine, but I've always said it is what you want it to be, so if you want to include it that fine

Thanks Jammy thats what I thought after I had Posted the Message as I would have just spent the change if I'd not put it in the tin so not really money neutral as I've not made a profit..........if that makes sense LOL (Sorry not had enough coffee today and feeling the effects:o )
Thanks aurora 14 for your reply hun!!
Just ordered some Free Bulbs of the Freebies site, hopefully they will be here by easter will give them to my mum as part of her easter pressy, I might even split them up and do little spring baskets not sure yet, the idea has only just come to me after reading scattymams easter idea.
So that another maybe a few more money nuetral gifts :j at this rate I won't have anything left to buy for this year and will have to start on next years gifts........

I wish I had a home Bargains near me, the closest is Cardiff but I can't really justify the £5 toll to get there.
I really want another Lush grabit bag, I already have a £15 one and plan to split it between three friends but I want more for me, I'm just worried if I get a rubbish bag I'll ruin the bargain I have already have.

It was only the tenner one and it had three gift boxes in it as well as tons of bars and what not!! I was going to get another one this year because I gave my friend and my sister the lush things for their birthday and used all the obviously christmas things (i.e christmas shaped bath bombs) for myself.I Love My Computer Because My Friends Live In It0
