If anyone knows if i can report RMA to TS OR WHOEVER, for sending out these stupid cards for all and sundry to see, please let me know.
Not sure who TS are but the OFT might know about RMA- and leaving cards constitutes psychological pressure- check out the National debtline website there is a copy of the OFT lenders guidelines on there. I might start a new thread and see if we can get a load of us to protest about RMA- normal dogs get put down- don't see why they can't be.now debt free and determined to maintain good spending habits and build savings0 -

TS = Trading Standards (Part of the Office of Fair Trading or OFT).
The 'Guidelines' to which you refer, can be viewed, and downloaded, on the following link:

You can usually find the address of your local Trading Standards on your Council's website.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Yes, great idea. See if you can start a new one, then we can start to see if many others are having the same pressures too.
Thanks very much.:money:0 -

Shall i report RMA and Aegis who both are used by MBNA to the OFT?

I would write a report about the whole experience from start to finish and report both if you feel the need in one letter, we reported POWER 2 CONTACT,MOORCROFT and 2 other companies in one letter to the office of fair trading, we enclosed photo copies of the horrid ,dirty postcards pushed through our door and other horrid letters that came via mail about the whole issue.Reporting these vile practices are the only way the system can possibly hange for the better, good luck0

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me with a bit of advice.
I've been dealing with RMA for a while now. They are always demanding more and more money. I've been back and forth to the citizens advice bureau countless times.
I have a debt of over £1000. I'm meant to be paying it back at £54 per month. But RMA have told me that they won't accept this. They want me to pay a much larger amount.
I don't have any more money. This is literally the most i can pay. I have tried explaining this but it never gets me anywhere.
I don't want to go back to the CAB as i have been recently. They set up my payments but RMA would only accept the payments for 3 months.
A friend (who is quite good with this kind of thing) advises me to politely but firmly tell them that this is all they can have, that i will pay if they want to accept it but if not they'll have to start court proceeding as there is no more money.
Is this good advice? It makes sense but i'm a bit nervous about the whole court thing.
What will happen?
I don't have any belongings that are worth anything. No property, cars, nothing else that the baliffs will want. (if i did i would have sold them to pay this damn debt off).
I'm not too clear on these kind of things so if anyone can help it would be great.
I'm dreading their next call.
Thanks.0 -

It is, actually, very good advice, b_g. RMA are unlikely to take you to Court - they are trying to push you as far as they can - ut in the event that they do issue a County Court Claim against you, you will be able, in your defence, to tell the Court that you are dealing with your debts, with the help of CAB, who, after looking at your income/expenditure, had reccomended that £54 a month is the maximum payment that you can afford. The Court will see that you are, indeed, serious about your debts and is extremely unlikely to order you to pay RMA any more than you are currently paying - they could even reduce the amount.
Whilst the prospect of a Court appearance sounds daunting, please realise that the Courts are there to ensure that you are being fairly treated as well as treating your creditors fairly. Any resultant CCJ will be just as binding on RMA as it is on you and any further attempts, by RMA, to try and increase your monthly payments from those set by the court will be illegal.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I am far away from being an expert inthese matters but am learning fast through my own problems- if you cannot afford more then yes, tell them. If they go for a court order, a judge would only order payments at a rate that is affordable so the refusals are an attempt to pressure you nothing more.
Just check that you've done a realistic and allowable budget- national debtline and CCCS are also there to help if you are feeling embarrassed about seeing the CAB- and if you wanted to formalise your payments into a DMP there are those and other charities (www.capuk.org and payplan spring to mind) who can help you set up a DMP and do the negotiating with your creditors saving you all this hassle-best of luck!:Dbutterfly__girl wrote: »Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me with a bit of advice.
