The bigger they are - the harder they can fall. In fact this is one case when size really does not matter.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Does it ever?I though it was what between the ears that mattered and that seems to be sadly lacking in creditors.
pirates - my guess is that they quote a monthly interest rate of about 2.5%?
maz - does this really exist? I would love it. I get so fed up racing down stairs to find another bleeding wrong number and then leaving a call which turns out to be family or friends. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

Hi all
Have been dealing with RMA for the last few months regarding a barclays debt that wasnt of my making-but thats another story!!!!
i havent found them too bad to deal with but must admit that the relentless no of phone calls is starting to get right on my nerves!
According to them i have a debt with them of £1320, this i was told was a reduction of the original debt.
i agreed to pay them £220 per month for 6 months to clear the debt.
to date i have made 2 payments to them by debit card so in total £440.00
i have now had a call from them to disscuss my MBNA card which apparantly i havent paid!!! news to me!!! they have told me that this debt is now owned by them and they wish me to make a payment to get the account back on track!
i have telephoned MBNA-Useless bunch of idiots who i cant understand and they have said that they have sent the account over to RMA because im in arreas by............................................................24p!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
they havent sent me any letters etc to let me know they have simply passed the debt to RMA for them to recover.
i have spoken to RMA and told them im not paying anything to them if they cant provide me with an Notice of Assignment of Debt and a signed CCA for both of the accounts to which i was told well we wont have them, you will need to contact the people that have passed the debts on to us!!
so in a nutshell im guessing they can do diddly squat about getting this money off me???? anyone know what i can do next-they are still calling me and have called 3 times whilst i have been writing this post! i have wrote to them and asked for the CCA but have had nothing back as yet but understand that i have to give it 14 working days.
Thanks0 -

It's actually 12 working days from their receipt of your cca request (accompanied by the £1.00 Statutory Fee) - allow 14 (12+2) days to cover non-working days, then send the 12+2 day letter which informs RMA that they are 'in default'..
Couple of 'links' for you to look at, bb:- Overview of cca request proceedure: http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/england_wales/factsheet.php?page=getting_a_copy_of_your_credit_agreement_and_account_details
- Template letter for 12+2 day letter can be found in post #6 of the following thread: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=963087

Just wondering if i can report RMA to TS for sending out "calling card", for all to see, saying they will be calling on Wednesday. Signed P. Green or C Brown, or B.Skye. These morons just are relentless in the harrasment of people who are paying on a DMP, good amounts of money on a MBNA debt.
If anyone knows if i can report RMA to TS OR WHOEVER, for sending out these stupid cards for all and sundry to see, please let me know.
I have sent by fax and post the usual DO NOT CALL letter, as ever, the tea went cold for Mr B Skye!!0 -

My understanding is that RMA are just a bunch of rottweilers who MBNA use to try and harrass their customers into a payment arrangement- I am sure they are not a DCA and do not own debts. They should be reported to the Office of Fair Trading- the level of calls they make is I am sure outside the guidelines issued- thats why MBNA pass it on- they can turn up the heat without being personally involved in the harrassment (they could lose their licence if they carried on the way RMA do).
So pressure them- ask for proof- me? their number is saved into my mobile as Irritating call centre so I know not to answer them-
they've passed it all back to MBNA now who are writing to me saying they want to help me- I nearly wrote back and said "oh if I'd realised you were calling to help I would have answered the phone and told you how much more salary I need to cover your payments"- do they have a pay increase fairy down there?now debt free and determined to maintain good spending habits and build savings0
