risk management alternatives, rma, is who i try not to deal with, lol
not nice at all on the telephone, and dont reply to my letters hence my complaints directly to the companies who have instructed them to contact me,
im so glad you are having a better experience, this is what really should be happening not like what me and other are experiencing.
Im asking them to help me until i get back to work, but its a constant threat a day and its not nice at all
However, taking the advice from the cccs im sticking to my guns for the time being, lets see what happens after they have investigated my complaints
Ciao for now MAZ
Before RMA was dealing with my AMEX debt a company called AIC (Allied International Credit) called me to say they were now collecting the AMEX debt. They were rude, abusive and nasty and were not interested in a monthly payment plan - just collecting the debt in full!! I explained if I had the cash to pay the debt off I gladly would!! The prat on the phone said things like "sell your car" "get the cash from your family" etc etc. In the end I lost my rag and told them to !!!! off!! I never heard from them again and a few weeks later AMEX advised me by letter to say RMA Resolve were now dealing with the debt and as I say they have always been polite and understanding.

I have RMA "Resolve" looking after my AMEX debt and I've got say they are the politest people you could wish to deal with, are RMA Resolve and RMA one and the same or are Resolve a different department, because my experience has been totally different to others on here?
RMA "Resolve" are the same as RMA and are all part of NCO now I believe.
I've had the same experience as you with my AMEX debt. Very polite, took my details, spoke to payplan, when payplan gave them my DMP start date, they called back and asked if they could have a token payment before then, but not to worry if I couldn't pay that month.
Definitely one of my better creditors - just goes to show how inconsistent creditors are.
I always answer the phone to RMA now just because they are no bother and because of that, they generally get what they want.LBM : March 2008

...Also, hi to pipk62, interesting what you say , ive had a call from westcot today , but of course i was a bit wary and thus not sure which of my creditors have passed my info to them since ive got a few complaints in and am awaiting their responces.
As you say they appear as they have been treating you well, ill see if i get any letters now from them, and will see how it goes, thanks though nice to see that some debt collectors are understanding. Will upate you all.
Hi Maz.
Although I have had good experience with Wescot, it may be due to the agent more than the agency, so continue to be "a bit wary", as my experience may not reflect the majority.
All the best. :silenced:0 -
Thank you everyone,
nice to know there are some people who are getting more positive responces and help, like ive explained, i got fed up with all the nasty phone calls and ive put my complaints in writing, explaining everything, so now i will see how these companies bother in reacting, ive had their acknowledgment letters advising they are investigating my comments, so now will see how they respond. I do want to pay my debts off, the quicker the better until i get back to work its a little bit of a worry, im paying off everyone on a pro rata and some have been brilliant, so now will continue making my payments and am showing good faith, i will see what i get back,
Have a fun day laters ciao for now MAZSealed Pot Challenge member 1525

I have a Abbeynational (mbna) credit card and had struggled for a while but kept making regular payments and kept Abbey well informed of what has been going on but in the meantime have been recieving phonecalls from rma which I have answered and advised when I had made payments even sometimes I`ve phoned them back when they`ve phoned and I`ve been working. I have recently had a letter from Abbey saying they`ve restructured my account and that they`ve contacted credit agencies and informed all my payments are up to date. In the meantime I had a postcard through my door saturday just gone to say RMA will be calling to see me between 8am and 8pm this friday. I don`t know what to do ? Do I phone Abbey as that`s who my cards with as I don`t want to be dealing with RMA ?
Please help, I`m feeling quite stressed.

Thanks, when I read your message about recieving a card and no-one turning up I felt a bit of relief. I don`t know why they are saying they will be coming to visit as all my payments are up to date and things will be a bit easier now as I`ve taken on a second part time job so that I can pay off all my debts alot quicker, I`ve also taken on extra hours in my first job as I work 2 nights a week and get night allowance so that ought to help also.
Thanks Pip0 -
No one will turn up, what they really mean is that someone will phone you between those times. It's their way of getting around people refusing to talk to them because the call was "out of the blue". Just ignore it, if you are in and want to talk to them then just read the letter from Abbey out and tell them you will only be dealing with Abbey.0

i know its easy to say as an ex in debt person but dont talk to them at all decide what you wish to pay send it to them, keep a record of it end of, i know they love to phone you at work, so put your cards on the table tell the boss which is what i did he just took the calls and hung up, when speaking to the boss play the you are realy are helping me they fall for it every time people love to help people who are going through a hard time.
rma gave up in fact collecting the debt for barclays the debt got written of after my solicitor spoke to barclays and listed the level of harrassment i had recieved and a few other things , barclays sent me a letter stating the debt had been wiped as a sign of good will and hoped my problems would be resolved soon [i suppose i should thank rma] i do remember it was a rather iritating scouse woman who launched a high level of abuse do not bite hang up she probably has a fat arss from sitting on it all day and bad bo.0 -
Hiya all
ive had these cards too, ive mentioned before on this thread, was in the same panic at the time, but it really meant calling on the telephone, its worded very well and yes no privacy as on a card.
Ive not had any further calls as ive strongly complained via the harrassment letter and data info letter requesting they remove my telephone numbers and my invalid work telephone number from their records. My complaints have been acknowledged by mbna and now it appears after my first pro rata letter about2 months ago, ive an account manager looking after my accounts at mbna, ive spoken to them and ive not minced my words, told them they are my worst nightmare, my other creditors have helped me by accepting my pro rata payments and stopped interest and charges for a 6 or 12 months period.
I do hope my account manager takes note and appears to do so, have now also requested again , the cca am awaiting this week. then a plan can be set up so they say, we shall see, in good faith i will pay them again this month, it will look good if it ever gets to court so the judge can see the full example of my trials in getting this resolved.
So again, i just want to say to all, keep all payments to them in a file, keep all your letters, i find a ring binder helpful, each creditor with own section, and i also keep the envelopes too. i also add a note on any letter i receive from a creditor the date i received it.
I would recommend that you ask for the cca as a matter of course, its your right, and at least you can then check its an enforceable agreement or not in court. it will give you a little leaway in knowing your next move.
Keep happy and keep learning, its the only way you will be able to understand all this scary legal stuff, but it will enpower you in the end I promise, I do feel so much better 3 months down the line from starting my own DMP journey.
Take care shout if you need any help or advice, lots of us will reply back
Have fun Ciao MAZSealed Pot Challenge member 1525

Yes I also just had one of these cards from RMA too said they are "calling" on Monday between 8am and 8pm - jeez must suck having to work on a Bank Holiday!!!! lol
I have had two letters from them now claiming they want my MBNA card payments and I have asked MBNA for clarification and also RMA for written notice of assignment but have had nothing from either of them yet.
Now today this comes - NOT EVEN A LETTER - IT WAS A POSTCARD so everyone could see what it was!!!
What should I do apart from ignore the w*****s? Inform OFT and write to MBNA about using these acre mongerers?? grrrrrrrrrr0
