I am looking at my Touch HD and the battery is going down as I type!
Fully charged this morning it is now down to 63% and its not even midday yet!
I'm not using it at the moment and no bluetooth, wireless etc is running!!
Is this normal or do I try to get it fixed? If so through whom? It's on o2 but bought through mobiles.co.uk.
    Any help appreciated.

    Hi.

    Have you made sure tha

    1) GPS (if it's the GPS equipped model) is turned off
    2) Wifi is turned off?

I've got a friend with an HTC Diamond (git! :D) who tried his out with WiFi and GPS turned on, and it lasted about 6 hours. With all non-essentials turned off, it should be OK.

    HTH.

    Pete.

if you turn off satnav, wifi and switch to 2g on most phone these days you get double the battery life. Turn them on when you need them.

Also it will take several charges before you get to the optimum point. Remember to do full decharge and recharges, don't start charging it for the sake of it.

This problem is with all 3g phones, you can not escape it. Even the iphone suffers, along with the G1.

    Hi everyone,

Interested in this phone, has anyone used it/got it?

Would appreciate any feedback on this phone.

    Thanks!

If you need a pda phone it's great.
If you want something simple, stay well away. Windows mobile is an acquired taste and not everyone gets on with it.
If you want software to do just about anything and you're techy enough to manage one (no disrespect intended) go for it.

The only down side, is its very big.

    Thanks Jon,

I've had a PDA before, a few years ago and it was ok but I think they have come a long way since.

I know someone who has a Touch Diamond and she recommended HTC to me, but the Diamond doesn't have WiFi, this one does.

I am after a phone that I can log on to Hotmail with and I think this one will allow me to.

In general it does appeal to me as I was liking the iphone but not sure the deals are that good on the iphone.

Go to a store and play with one then. I was surprised how big it was ! I normally keep my phone in my shirt pocket, the HTC's almost too big for that and it weighs more than a none pda phone as well.

Wait a couple of weeks and get the Touch Diamond 2.

Orange have confirmed release in next few weeks and t-mobile have release date as 11 May.

Vs the HD the Diamond 2 is more stable, faster, has a better screen and is more user friendly. also slightly smaller and weighs 30g less at 117g

Jon have to disagree, Win Mob is user friendly and the free upgrade with the diamond 2 to win mob 6.5 when released later in the year will make it even more so. Only complicated if you want to change the rom or make other tweaks.

I wasn't saying it was unfriendly, I think it's great. Its just if someone hasn't used one before they can have all kind of issues moving from a Nokia or a Samsung (I used to work on a networks tech help line, some people can't handle more tech than two bean cans and a bit of string, trust me!).

I think the interface that HTC have added helps greatly if you don't want to get 'under the hood' and hopefully will get more people using them.

Thanks guys for your input, I'm not put off because of the size as I was considering an iPhone and they are quite big! I'm sure I could get a better deal on one of the HTC models though.
  • Had this handset for about 3 months now.

Truely a excellent phone....Ok its a little bigger than an avaerage handset but i find the battery life to be very good.

And loads of software to boot
