Who is actually entitled to it?

I don't think or know if i am entitled, single mum working part time on ctc and wtc

Filton is my nearest weather station and apparently it's been triggered twice
Life is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?
  • winter payment triggered!
We have had such cold for ages here, the frost does not lift all day. But I just found now that our postcode is under Leuchars rather than Braemar, although we are closer to Braemar and much higher than Leuchars. Some logic :)
Anyway, £25 will come handy and will go straight to Scottish Hydro :)

The only man who sticks closer to you in adversity than a friend is a creditor.

    Who is eligible?

You may be eligible for a Cold Weather Payment for each week of very cold weather in your area if you get Pension Credit.
You may also be eligible for a Cold Weather Payment for each qualifying week if you are getting Income Support or income-based Jobseeker's Allowance and have a child under five or get one of the following:
    • a pensioner premium, higher pensioner premium or enhanced pensioner premium
    • a disability premium or severe disability premium
    • a disabled child premium
    • Child Tax Credit that includes an individual element for a child or qualifying young person who is disabled or severely disabled
So a lot of lone parents aren't entitled to it. My youngest is 7 and there is no one who is classed as disabled in our house (not that I'm complaining about that :D ) so it's extra jumpers and socks in our house.

apparently its been triggered twice in my area, does that mean those eligible should have received 2 payments?

Being disabled does not automatically qualify you, you would still need to be in receipt of IS. Also, you do not get 'registered' as disabled anymore, the disability premiums mentioned are for those in receipt of DLA or on long term IB (and in receipt of IS).

My area has been triggered 3 times - I have received one payment and a further one is following so I would imagine your second payment is due to be sent out or put into your account
  • would i be entitled to these payments? am on low care dla high mobilty dla and child tax credit, am not on IS.

    thanks

If the DLA is for you and not your child, you will not be eligible.

I got one for 28th November to 4th December, postcode DH9

What I find annoying is we're quite high up and it can be several degrees colder here than it is at our "local" weather station, there's been times when it's been -2 here but the weather station has reported 1 degree!

my husband and i work and are on tax credit and struggling with 3 kids and we dont get any fuel payments, just be grateful that you get it.
at the moment where i live it is minus 9!!!!!!
