McKenna, just to clarify is a TV personality NOW, however he started his career in talk radio before becoming fascinated with NLP and studying under it's chief architect Richard Bandler.
I too have lost enormous weight with this type of therapy, however I can also lose weight on Lo-Carb diets too.
The only thing that never seems to work for anyone I know is Lo-fat diets.
I am a firm believer in there is a diet that WILL work for everyone out 'there' it's just finding the right one for YOU that is the struggle,
My main downfall is I get lazy and end up eating the same old things all the time plus I am a very fussy eater so a huge list of vegetables is a no no for me as I don't actually even like most of them!
Cycling helps me enormously and you can listen to NLP (not the hypnosis tracks though!) whilst cycling.Unless specifically stated all posts by me are my own considered opinion.
If you don't like my opinion feel free to respond with your own.0 -

Thank you everyone for posting on this thread again. I found McKenna so great at first but it is so easy to slip back to old ways and then for some reason hard to get back into it. I can do it for a week or so (and drop a few pounds) and then I stop. I am looking forward to reading what you guys have to say about your experience and hopefully getting back to it on a more full time basis myself.
My main experiences if it helps anyone were firstly that I found it so much easier to do if i eliminated distractions so that it was just me and food, I tend not to over eat then. Secondly I find when i am doing it I feel so much better about myself as a person, more in control and a more attractive person.
Good luck everyone.0 -
Well I know its only been a day lol but yesterday after reading the book I ate at the table instead of in front the TV, listened yo the CD last night, had a lovely sleep and today went food shopping buying just what I fancied but funnily enough I was drawn to much more healthy choices.
Last night I had a poussin if thats how you spell it, the small chicken thingy with roasted squash red onion and carrots, i couldnt finish it all. That evening no craving for crisps, just kept asking myself if I was hungry and I wasnt. Eat half a bacon sarnie at 9 am as my DH had made them and wasnt hungry again then till 2pm so I choses a posh cous cous salad in Waitrose whilst shopping and I have a small pot of posh fruit salad or later when hungry again. Tea tonight is stir fry duck with veg and noodles, I hadnt had a stir fry in ages let alone duck but just fancied it.
As I said lets see in 2 weeks if eating what I fancy when I feel hungry works for me. i only have just over a stone to shift so im not expecting a dramatic weight loss. But I do feel good in my head and feel very happy about giving this method a go.
Ps the new book does have the journal in it plus cd and dvd.0 -
Still just me then?
Boiled eggs at breakfast, chilli squid for lunch and roast chicken, pots, parsnips, carrots cooking in my new halogen tabletop cooker thing plus some brocolli, could be a disaster but its looking good.
I am feeling full during main course so leave some as per the plan but when do you ever get to have a pudding then?0 -

What you are cooking looks good. I could drop by for dinner if you liked.
You get a pudding whenever you fancy one. Thing is if you listen to your body it will tell you when it wants one and you wont feel stuffed.
The great majority of weight gain is psychological and happens because we are inadvertently conditioned to ignore our body when it is telling us its full.
Did you ever hear things like "just one more spoonfull, theres a good girl" or "finish your plate dear" well thats how we get to overeat when young and as we get older and do less exercise up goes the weight.Who I am is not important. What I do is.0 -

Checking in with myself today.
About 10pm last night I stated thinking about snacking in front of the TV so I went to bed and listened to CD as I wasnt hungry, just bordem eating had crept in.
Today had boiled eggs for breakfast, pan fried scallops with chunks of streaky smoked bacon and a handfull of blueberries. Tea tonight is a waitrose thing, salmon with feta cheese cubes, a couple of charlotte potatoes and a salad on the side.
I know I only stated Monday but i do look a lot less bloated in my stomach, I feel really good. I have been for a back massage this week and again tomorrow, I feel like I am really chilled and loving myself.
I am not to weigh for 2 weeks, so its a wait and see game.
Ps the chicken in the halogen cooker turned out really well.0 -
