Paul McKenna "I Can Make You Thin!"

Day 3.
I was really motivated to go to the gym this morning and also managed to leave some of my lunch. Tonight will be a challenge though as Mrs Ging and I always sit in front of Children in Need with a load of munchies.
Hmm.... will try to do my best to avoid this.
Positively though I have noticed that my clothes are getting a lot looser

Good luck with this Ging. Paul Mckenna does work but you really do have to focus and particularly the rule about no distractions while you are eating. I lost a stone in a month when I first started it and found it really easy but after a while I you let yourself slip a little you do lose it. Sorry if that sounds like I am being negative, I'm really not. It is an amazing programme but you have to focus each and everytime you eat on following those four golden rules.

I think you have to focus on any change you make to your life, especially initially until it become a habit. Given the choice between focusing on calories/syns/points or focusing on the food I really want to have then I know which I will go for
I have about 8 stone to lose so I know that it'll take a while but I've been dieting for years and have only really been putting weight on so I really need to do something different.
Thanks for the thought though, Ging x0 -
Day 4.
Hmm, a bit hit and miss today as I have craved comfort food really badly. Can honestly say though that I have not overeaten which is a huge plus. Still got dinner to get through but overall I think today has gone well.
My clothes are starting to feel less tight and I'm itching to get on the scales to see how I'm doing.

Hi there
I'm watching your journey with interest. I've been doing it (on and off) for most of this year. I've lost 2.5 stone but to be honest I did this between January and the summer. I've had some naughty stuff and I've certainly behaved in a way not conducive with Paul McKenna teachings.
I'm eating in front of the telly too much and that's definitely my downfall.
I'm determined to get back into it though. I've looked out the book so going to refresh and I'll get the CD back on as well
Good luck and keep posting your successes (and failures:o)Grocery Challenge M: £450/£425.08 A: £400/£.May -£400/£361 June £380/£230 (pages 18 & 27 explain)0 -
No posts from November but I’ll post anyway and see what happens.
I had been starting to cut back and happened to stumble across the Paul McKenna system so I thought rather than just cutting back – I don’t do diets – I’d have a look and see what he was offering.
Carried out a little research: bought the book, listened to the CD watched the DVD and managed to get my hands on a recording of the Sky One program ‘Paul McKenna Will Make you Thin,’ was impressed so I decided to give it a go!
I’ve been going with it now for ten days and I find it quite easy. The key for me was putting the knife and fork down between bites. I am finding that I am eating far less, I’ve no difficulty in leaving something on the plate like McKenna suggests. And to be quite honest I’m not eating anywhere near as much as I was we’ll say two weeks ago.
To date I haven’t started filling in the 90 Day Journal but I plan to do that from Tuesday. Unfortunately my DVD RW drive is playing up so I can’t transfer the CD to my ipod which is how I like to listen to CD’s. The Drive chucks quite a lot and after about five minutes it stalls so I can’t finish to transfer (any techies with ideas?)
Having read and listened to McKenna I think my problem is emotional eating and I am drawn to sweet stuff especially where cream is concerned.Currently I’m 14st 7lb and my target weight by the end of June is 12st 7lb.
One of the exciting elements of this system is that it is helping me build up confidence in myself. I do find it working – we will see.0 -
I haven't read the whole forty pages but I have dipped in and out if the thread. One of my earliest childhood memories is of my mother dieting and I remember Mondays were Liquid Days and she seemed to live on Ryvita and cottage cheese. I have never been on a diet in my life as a reaction to my mother, who put me on the Rosemary Conley Hip & Thigh Diet without telling me.
The good think about Paul McKenna (and I've heard quite a lot of his radio interviews) is the way he gets people to think about unlearning old behaviours. I think his books etc are therefore very positive.
As an ex-chef I was really gutted to be diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. I didn't eat junk food or have a high risk for it at all. Since learning about low carbing from YouTube I have dropped my blood sugars to normal, got my blood pressure and kidney function to normal etc and lost weight.. Haven't counted calories, been to the gym, or portion controlled nor even followed any particular diet. But it does take will power not to pig out on Kettle Chips.
I just wanted to say I think the key to losing weight and keeping it off are to break old behaviours and create new ones and whereas not getting diabetes complications is an incentive for me I just wanted to say that I admire you all for sticking with it as it has to be tough when you can eat anything you want and wish you all success.

I bought this at a car boot sale and I think a lot of what PMcK says makes sense but I do wish he had called it "I can Make you Slim" (or Slimmer) rather than "Thin". Thin is not good and in some cases it's not healthy - I think it's a poor choice for a title.0

Anyway back to topic. To date I've lost about 2 ½ stone. At the moment I'm loosing an average of 2 lbs a week and quite seriously I haven't given up any of the foods I like it is just that I don't each as much of them. The one problem I still have is eating to quickly but I'm overcoming that.
It is great to hear people say, 'you've lost a lot of weight.'
Really would be great to hear from others who are following this system.

I use the meals from Diet Chef.
They gave me a code which gives any new subscriber £20 off (and me a £20 voucher).
The code is MYCDEDFR
Thanks for resurrecting the thread, it's very interesting. However your diet site is not really relevant, is it, and your referral code is not allowed here (there's a specific board for those) hence :spam: reported. They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.0
