Don't go over to Gas & Elec then :rotfl:
I know Dusty tries to be very green (she shops on a lot of the same sites as me!), and soappie is encouraging us all to shop locally and avoid supermarkets.
The ethical consumer website might be of interest, an possibly the ecologist as well. I'm involved at work with changing behaviours in relation to the environment (specifically paper usage, energy usage, waste management) and am responsible for the disposal of IT-related WEEE, so feel free to PM me if you think I might be able to help.
The British Library have an interesting talk on Wednesday (Can we save the planet and keep our freedoms) http://www.bl.uk/onlinegallery/whatson/events/january.html which may be available as a podcast afterwards. I'd like to go... but haven't booked yet, and am not keen on the whole getting the train into town & coming back late thing at the moment!
Thank you greenbee. I find it a fascinating subject. The whole sustainable consumption/development isnt only about environmental issues. Economic development and social issues are also important. I think thats where the insults (mud huts/sandals etc) were coming from. How do we get a balance of the 3 aspects? We all know that car usage is bad for the environment, but we dont want embb's DS to be made redundant either.
The British Library talk looks good. I hope it is available as a podcast. I'd be very interested to hear what the man from Tesco has to say.
Right, another hours work I think. 1,500 words done, another 1,500 to do *sigh*0 -

good grief
DS used my hairdryer to dry clothesand has blown it up or overheated it...Either way changing the fuse hasn't worked.
Kids have been squabbling like squabbling kids ever since we got back from football - morning match.
Good news though is that DS took a corner - got it on target (again:rolleyes:) and this time they got it into the goal. The result was 3-3. But there was an awful incident in which our goalie had made a save, was on the floor holding the ball (as you do) and one of their players stamped on his head THEN their parents said out goalie should be off as he had a head injury...it was absolutely awful. Lot of bad play on their part - pulling and holding too.
I have loads of washing/drying to do.
DD made herself a meal - noodles and BURNT them:mad: while I was out. By some miracle I still have a kitchen - then DS made another meal in another pan while I had my bath. 4 pans to wash grrr:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
