I found my list and have updated it ready for today. I have decided that realistically the living room is not going to be decluttered until I sort the middle bedroom (it is completely full and I just shut the door and ignore it!) so I'm going to brave it and fill a binbag and a charity bag today!

    Monday Mayhem...Bathroom

    Level Three
    Scrub down the tiles..
    Wash the floor

    Tuesday - tinklings...Kitchen

    Level One
    Vacuum the floor!

    Level Two
    Wipe the table

    Extras
    1. Wash the window and sill
Wishy-Washy Wednesday...Living Room, Hall and Stairs

    Level Two
Vacuum the floors and up the stairs..

Thursday - Master bedsty & landing

    Level Two
Vacuum the floor you can see in the bedroom and on the landing!
    15 minutes filing

Friday - Spare rooms and kiddies rooms

    Level Two
Fill a binbag with stuff you no longer need and get rid!
    HHI .. catch up!!

    Weekend List ...
    1. [strike]Wash [/strike]and iron uniform ready for Monday.. do lunch
    2. Fill a binbag for charity/freecycle/tip
    My one-a-day (or 7-a-weekend!!) list:

    - [strike]post parcel[/strike] DONE
    - [strike]decorations down and put away[/strike] DONE
    - stamps and bag of stuff to charity shop
    - [strike]pay water bill[/strike] DONE
    - sort cross stitch threads
    - contact Union
    - car checks

    In short:-
    1. Cost, and you can actually get them even cheaper than I did, I borrowed some and bought some new ones, if you are lucky you can get them on freecycle or borrow them all etc. Cost goes down if you use them on more babies (some of my borrowed ones been used on 3 babies so far and likely more will use them!). Terry squares are the cheapest I think but I used shaped nappies.
    2. Reduced environmental impact (yes you have to wash them but there is no nasty chemicals left to rot in a landfill!).
Disposables have a distinctive smell which real nappies don't, and they also look pretty cute :). I use real nappies all the time now, except on holiday as impractical, and sometimes real wipes too. Real nappies are not as much work as people often make them out to be, this said it is completely mum and dad's choice to use them or not!
Ok, hth. Better get moving now!

Thank you Orkneystar, thats very helpful. Interesting, one of my friends who is very well off, choose them purely on environmental reasons. I think when she bought them, they had just come out, so were quite expensive? :D

I used reusables with my second child (didn't think about it first time) but haven't so much this time as DD2 gets very sore very quickly :( Although when it gets to spring and I'm not using the fires I'll probably go back to them. At the moment we put all the used nappies in the fire.
Fluttering about an inch off the ground, I may fly properly one day and soar in the clouds!

Well I've done WM x 1, TD x 1 and cleared my computer cupboard out in my HHC. Only thing is I've now decided I need 2 people to plug the new monitor in - after I'd shut the computer down - so I can't put anything back until DH comes in!

Welcome back Triker sorry to hear about your flying phobia. I hear hypnosis is supposed to be really good for that. Good luck if you pursue it.

Valli Bad bad bad girl off walking without being properly prepared! Don't do it again, and consider yourself told!!!!!

Frodders healing vibes sent for girlie in your class, I do hope you hear good news tomorrow.

And I can't remember what else  Hope everyone's ok today. I'm off to climb Mt Washmore, once DH has plumbed new WM in!!!!

Also got lovely rellies coming over in a bit. I've made a huge pot of Veggie Chilli in the slowcooker, so that'll save a fortune, we usually end up having takeout when they come. Not good for the budget.... did I mention the budget BTW????

    Thanks Gryfon :D
  • Out of personal interest...those who use reusable nappies are there any brands that you would either recommend (or not!)?

It's something that both OH and I want to do when the frugal teeny arrives (due date 1 week!!) but we don't know many people that use them so haven't managed many personal recommendations!

    On a flying note...

I have emptied dishwasher (a big achievement for me as I normally let it sit there til we need to refill it!)
TD is on with the spare room bedding in it
Wiped over front of kitchen units
    Cleaned hob
Cleaned the oven (yuck - I hate doing that!)
Half emptied the cupboard under the sink. (We have more carrier bags than Asda do at the moment I think! I shall be taking a few trips over there to put them in their collection bins) I now have to go get the OH before I do myself a mischief trying to reach the stuff at the back of the cupboard!!
