Back from our hike (I walk with a lady I met at Toddler Group about 13 years ago...she is now a single mum like me) and we just about made it to civilisation as it was getting dark! High up on the moor above Matlock Bath and Matlock I even managed a walk around here - hand over hand! It was very cold and misty so you couldn't see the view at all - probably a good job. Then fish and chips after - yum.
Sitting here with a :coffee: and 2 ibuprofen...
and I found my dream house
(and I guessed the price right - not bad considering it's in Matlock Bath and I don't live there - but I wish I did)

Big hugs Lil-me . Remember when my Ex OH got in touch in the summer? I went through a period of reminiscences, what ifs, if onlys etc. etc. and was quite emotional for a few days on the quiet. I did a barbecue or something either the next day, or a couple of days later and it was most difficult trying to be sociable to my family and trying to work out what was going on in my head at the same time.

But, when we did meet up I realised that, actually, I'm glad we split up after all - I wouldn't be where I am or have done what I have done over the years.

But, it must be very difficult for you. Particularly with a DH who can be demanding at times - and particularly two children who are most definitely demanding a lot of the time. Coupled with your Dad moving out and all the emotional baggage that goes with that, you're bound to be tearful and nostalgic.

I'll just send you another great big hug and offer you a virtual, medicinal, G&T

awh huge hugs lil_me how dreadful for you to find out all these things after such a long time - I would have been the same with 'what ifs' - i think that is just human nature.
At least you have the answers and now you can get things straightened out in your head - it probably wont change anything but you know the truth and if you want to you can close the door permanently now.
As for your Dad - give it time - if you are close to your Dad then what about meeting his GF halfway somehwere neutral with him and see what she is like - he obviously thinks she is good enough to move in with so could you maybe give her a chance or do you feel you are betraying your MUm? Big hugs as I know how much I miss my Dad and wish I could visit him even if it was 80 miles! (he died 20 years ago)

Enjoy your ice cream - I think you deserve it!!
