Ooo that's lovely! I want a lounge like that!

Flylady_Flower...same here re films and video games. My children seem very rounded though otherwise I'd say no.

Did you notice we had taken you up on your challenge? Quite time consuming, it's been!

BTW on my PC desk today
    1. one bed castor (used)
    2. one bed castor (unused, in bag)
    3. one socket doubler...
    4. one clip to fix a light on a bike
    5. Sunday Express Crossword Dictionary
    6. pile of paper
    7. school brochure
because my PC desk is in my hall and is, therefore, a total HOTSPOT as stuff gets dropped here on its way elsewhere.

Gryfon i would be interested if that helped anything at all. maybe another point: turn the light off when you leave a room!

jennybee denial sounds about right; just be prepared that the day doesn't sneak up on you ;)

Mudbath Happy Birthday for your son!!!!

GnB Oh had it happening twice to him over the last 2 years and every time you call the fraud department and stop the card first; then they send you forms to fill out and will get it back - it does take a long time though! - they were always great with us!
ours is Barclays and they phones us both times before we even realised!

Liberty and to you too: a very Happy Birthday!!!! hope you got something nice ;)

toochoosey - no matter what I do my lounge will never be that tidy. It is physically impossible. And I'm not just saying that, even if there was nothing in there it wouldn't look that pristine! Well done :)

Thanks for this guidance this week I've managed it for a change! :D

It makes the weekend a bit easier at least. Will have to redo the floor again in the kitchen as it is still filthy despite a good clean yesterday - will have to try stardrops.

I've just discovered how good stardrops is at cleaning windows, I used on the outside windows last weekend and on the bathroom window and mirror today, GREAT!!!! :T Just needed a polish with an old microfibre cloth I never use.

Thanks for all the OS tips on here about stardrops, it's my new cleaning dynamite product (when all the others run out and I can see to the back of the under the sink cupboard!):D :j

I've just discovered my border terrier is half a kg overweight at 10.60kg. He never gets my food or that many treats and he doesn't look overweight to me. It looks like a little diet now for him as his 3xmonthly flea treatment has now goneup to £22 from £17 as he weighs over 10kg, great stuff!!!

    :wave::wave:Hi Flyladies

I just thought I would check in and say 'Hi!'.

I hope everyone had lovely Christmases and a Happy New Year to you all.

I do think of you all often. I haven't been able to do anything much, and definitely no flying for quite a few weeks now. I promise I will rejoin you when I am more able again.

    ditto on both counts!

regarding chucking out - Gryfon - it's just stuff. It's clutter and it drags you down. Since I decided to fling things there is not one thing I have regretted throwing. Not one - and I used to be a 'collector'. You end up a slave to your possessions. I knew I was no longer a hoarder when I began to get rid of books - and I LOVE reading and I also re-read books. And I haven't missed them, either. I realised I had a problem when I used to say to DD (who is NOT a hoarder and has never had sentimental attachment and she is 13 later this month) that 'you can't throw that out because X gave it to you' or 'you can't throw that out because it cost £YYY!'. But she didn't have enough room to store things anyway and I managed, with great effort, to change my mindset to 'if it isn't being used/loved it doesn't need to be in my house'. Things have been much easier since then and, in all honesty, I can clean any room in my house, thoroughly in an hour or less - usually less. (Whether I do...well that's a different matter:rotfl:)

Have to agree with you here Valli, but I know it is hard to do - One thing though, You feel such a sense of relief once it's gone - and the more you do it the better you feel - it's like a weight is lifted - not only from the house but from your sholders - junk/clutter weighs you down, can make you ill and is definitly bad for you.

I did some training with Dawna Walters when I learned my House Doctor stuff (she's friends with Ann so they had her on the courses) and she said start small (a cupboard or something that you want to declutter) and work up to a whole room - also to have a friend with you when you do it - someone who will be honest with you and tell you if you 'need' it or not... and who will laugh at you and make you see sense when you want to keep those items that really are rubbish. small steps, like flying, seem to apply here too - after all, you can't eat a whole elephant in one bite can you? 1 bite, then another, and the 'elephant' will be gone!
