Now Boddy, you should know by now that you can't leave such a vague sentence hanging here - what was said about your retirement? Are you happy with what was said? etc. etc.

Pigpen - what age did you let your kittens outside?

A lot older than most people. Hazel has been going out a few weeks and she is about 6 months... Peaches doesn't go out yet and won't be for a long while. She is still really tiny.

I certainly do not let them out until they have been neutered, healed and the fur grown back.

I have exactly the same problem with my laptop  The ones the kids use in school are fantastic though.... they say they're fully charged, you switch them on they go to 50% battery, you log on, they drop to 20%, by the time the computer is ready to use it shouts at you to plug it in :rotfl::rotfl: Poor technician is sick of hearing about the problem - he even offered me his job today
    Oh that brings back memories.
We had laptops which we lent to students for use in the library(well they still do but I'm not there IYSWIM) we had batteries on charge to swap over and had the same problems with one lot of laptops with batteries not holding their charge.
    Some things I don't miss.

Have i been speed reading too fast when catching up and missed pink fairy or is she AWOL?
  • I am rubbish...I have done nothing today (apart from the accounts from my Guide unit - does that count as filing?!) I had to go out today to a sale and pop into town to the bank etc. Got home about 3pm and just went to bed. Woke up at 6.30 when OH came home. Appear to be completely shattered at the moment. Just worked out baby due in 10 days. c**p. that's not very long...

I promise to catch up tomorrow...although 30 pages of posts from today will probably have to be missed out otherwise I won't do anything at all!! So apologies to anyone I've missed....condolences, congratulations etc etc :)

mine too. I find it really hard to find any motivators for my son in particular. The problem is if we take something away he isn't able to control his temer or attitude or whatever long enough to get it back then he gets used to not having it and then doesnt even care. Currently I confiscated his lego about 3 days agO and he's stopped even asking for it now

Just logged back on to say I won't be back this evening as I am engrossed in my SuperNanny book.
I love her (see previous post) and usually watch the programme just to feel smug as my kids are still really little (17 months and 2 and a half years) so I don't have that kind of chaos yet. But I do like her ways of doing things, they are similar to my own apporach.
For anyone having problems with kids or, like me, jsut looking for tips and advice for the future I'd reccomend her books/website. Can't remember the web address but you could google it, I've found some really useful info on there.
    Hope that helps,
back to my book now, may not do anything apart from [ut cover back on the bed tonight, worn out from doing the bedroom earlier (even though it only took an hour  )

I think it's gone quieter on here becuase a lot of people got overwhelmed by how busy the thread got so come on less often

Dusty - we haven't got a main present for DS. Just after christmas he asked if he could wait for his main present as his birthday is so close to Christmas and he didn't really NEED anything right now. Bless him! We've done him a voucher saying 'we owe you a main present!'
