jillD you seem to be living somewhere near bracknell :D
Indeed I do, is that where you are ? My work (gits) were in Bracknell for about 3 years, on a road called Milbanke Court which is near where HomeBase is, opposite a pub called the Bridge (I think). Binfield end of Bracknell. Great place to work, I really miss it! We used to have many a night out at Masquerades LOL

We now quite often go to the Pizza Hut at the Point, and to the Odeon, and isnt parking free on a Sunday in the shopping centre - thats fantastic!

Ooooh we might have found a caravan!!! (a cheap one so don't worry we won't be getting into debt!) xx

Brilliant Mudbath, can see you're gonna have some fun!

Quick question, is your signature on a payment a day or something, and do you have to pay it off by the end of Jan? (just tell me if I'm being a nosy cow...;) ) If it is, you're doing brilliant!

  • Flower - how are you liking your new room layout
    Sleep tight my friends.

Loving the new look and it's much nicer for when people come round to chat and stuff, but it's weird looking at the TV from the other end of the room - still, we'll get used to it...;)

  • Evening ladies.

Quick hello from me. Today i have managed a washload, to hang up a load of wet washing and to empty the airers this morning, to wash up the breakie and lunch dishes, to make a chickpea and chorizo stew for dinner, and spend a fortune. (Although i did spend the day with a carrier hanging on the living room door handle, and every time i went up i took it up and put away, and then refilled upstairs, and brought down.)

We arranged for my car to have its mot yesterday, and DH's today, luckily only DH's needed work. Mine had a real dickie doodah Tuesday night because of the flat battery. The power steering went just as we went to pick Charlie up from nursery, so i turned onto the horrible road where both DH and i have crashed before, steering went just as i pulled off the street and nowhere technically to stop, so i had to pull into the entrance for the pit and DH drove it home. When we got home he turned the engine off and on and it worked again, thankfully as i had visions of spending a fortune. Just occasionally DH's are very useful. ;)

I can't say i have read any of the thread today. I've spent the time with the kids. And watched corpse bride which was ok. And wrote the thank you cards for the kiddies pressies as otherwise i would have forgot.

Hope you are all as well as can be. Jill i squeezed in 20 min on the wii fit this morning when DS2 woke me up early, and it reckons i have lost 2Ib. Sorry to see your work were crap today.

I had a horrible moment today when i looked in the diary and realised it's only 7 weeks till Sam has his 1st taster day at nursery. I nearly cried, and i didn't do that with Charlie. He still feels so much littler than Charlie did. Then i cheered myself up by working out that i will only be at work 39 days before the summer hols with my part time hours. DH reckons i'm sad. I then worked out i will only work 120 days in a normal year. DH reckoned i should go the whole hog and work out days till retirement, but i said if i did that i would then be depressed and want another baby so he soon shut up. ;)

Night all, hope to see you all again soon. xx

well I think I am the first person to leave since I got back from maternity leave, and before I went on maternity leave it was a different receptionist and traditionally its always been the receptionist who kind of organises these things. In the past we've done a card and a collection and then bought some kind of gift. In fact I had been there 3 years when I left, things didnt work out (long story) and I went back to the same office but different position, and when I left after the 3 years I got an MO3 player - which in those days were really newfangled, noone had them (hard to believe now), it came with a memory card that fitted about 5 tracks LOL but I was blown away with what an amazing present it was.
There's been masses of turnover in staff since then, like I said I was almost the longest serving, and now this new receptionist. So I think she just hasn't bothered and the rest are all too damn lazy to think of it. I dont think its that she doesnt know or is too timid, shes really mouthy, she does all the other new baby etc type cards and collections, its all a bit bizarre.
Oh well maybe they will send me a card or something. Who needs them anyway

Jill, you don't need them if they're not even bothered to get you a card or pop in and say goodbye - waste of oxegen if you ask me, you will be much better off without them, but I know it must hurt that they didn't even bother - just notch it up to the new witch on reception - Karma will get her eventually, it always does...;)

Aw mudbath - you know what it's like when your due date isn't far off. I seem to remember enthusiastically cleaning out my chest freezer when I went into labour with the last one!

ha ha yes does anyone remember THE LIST from when I was pg with DD2 - I was in super duper over zealous nesting mode for MONTHS :rotfl:

Just don't go too mad JennyBee, get some rest between jobs, when bubs come you won't get much chance to just do nothing

Well, I didn’t do too badly – I actually got to the end of Thursdays fly list and think that I was just being a little eager thinking I could complete Friday as well!!!!

Well, I have four perfectly clean and tidy rooms, along with landings and stairs…I only have a fluffy sofa which I can’t hoover as it’s now 11.10pm and the dog is already asleep on it – why do I bother trying!!!?! I am too soft, but he is very cute!!

    [strike]
    Vacuum up the stairs
Sort through coats and shoes and bag
    Wipe and water neglected plants
Wipe the paintwork stairs, hall and lounge
    Dust the flat surfaces
Wash the windows in lounge and front door
    Clean out handbag
15 minutes floordrobe clearance in bedroom
Vacuum the floor you can see in the bedroom and on the landing!
Fill a binbag with stuff you no longer need and get rid!
Wash any soft furnishing that need it
Empty any bins and take any laundry to the wash basket
    Wash dirty windows
    Dust away all the cobwebs
Wipe all the upstairs doors! .. Both sides!!
Sort out cookery book shelf in lounge
Sort out spice shelf in hallway (I seriously need a bigger kitchen!!!)
    Put away yesterdays laundry
    [/strike]
Friday….try to get as much done from below list before OH comes home for the weekend or hopefully longer so he can help with flying next week!!

Hoover sofa – and stop fluffy pest from sleeping on it!!
Spare room - tidy all the tat off the floor & fill a binbag or 6 with stuff you no longer need and get rid!
Vacuum the floor you can see spare room
    Wash dirty windows
Dust away all the cobwebs and dust
    Wipe the paintwork
Dust shelves and light fittings etc
Filing - as it is currently all over the floor of the spare room

A huge thank you to Pigpen and all you lovely flying people – I have never ever had such a clean and tidy house!!!!

Someone probably replied on this ages ago and I am probably wrong. But could it be blood/sugar dropping after an initial raise after your lunch ? And/or dehydration ?

Hmmm I dunno, could be! I think my sinuses are blocked which doesn't help when I'm hanging out washing as that hurts every time I bend my head forward.

May try grazing tomorrow and going for foods to try and stabilize my blood sugar level and remember to drink more!

BTW...sod them they're obviously not good enough for you! But I'd be hurt as well :(
Fluttering about an inch off the ground, I may fly properly one day and soar in the clouds!

  • OK, am now shattered so will watch the end of Die Hard (sky 2) and then go to bed - I love those films coz they remind me how hubby used to look when we first got together (he looked like Bruce Willis, shame he doesn't earn like him too - just lost his hair the same...;) :D )

Here's my list for tomorrow - I threatened DS that if he didn't do his room today I would do it tomorrow and anything on the floor would be binned for when the binmen come tomorrow, so he couldn't even rescue it... IT WORKED!!! :j :j :j His room is done (in a fashion) so I don't have to step over stuff - I will clean it though as it hasn't had a good (my standards, not his) clean for ages... Bedding needs doing too...

My friend's daughter was particularly willful, so she removed all her toys from her room and made her earn them back. If she misbehaved she lost one.

I tried that with DD1 when she wouldn't tidy at least a year or more ago...the black bags are still full in my basement  She says she wants them but then doesn't tidy. Although that happened to me when I was younger and I don't think I cared in the end. I do know she needs more storage though, so boxes at the weekend that we're going to label well.
