    Evening ladies.
Hope you are all as well as can be. Jill i squeezed in 20 min on the wii fit this morning when DS2 woke me up early, and it reckons i have lost 2Ib. Sorry to see your work were crap today.
ooh well done you. I wonder if I will be able to use it from next week when DD2 asleep in the day when it is just me and DD1 at home. Maybe DD2 might be able to join in on some of the games.
Do you change into sporty gear to use it or just do it in your jeans (is that a ridiculous question ??!!)
I had a horrible moment today when i looked in the diary and realised it's only 7 weeks till Sam has his 1st taster day at nursery. I nearly cried, and i didn't do that with Charlie. He still feels so much littler than Charlie did. Then i cheered myself up by working out that i will only be at work 39 days before the summer hols with my part time hours. DH reckons i'm sad. I then worked out i will only work 120 days in a normal year. DH reckoned i should go the whole hog and work out days till retirement, but i said if i did that i would then be depressed and want another baby so he soon shut up. ;)

Night all, hope to see you all again soon. xx

LOL about the nother baby thing ha ha
With DS I was fine when he went to nursery, it was much harder with DD1, and well I couldnt contemplate it full stop with DD2, it was horrendous. I think with her its cos I knew shes our last and she'll always be the baby.

On the plus side, DD1 was always much more chilled about being at nursery than DS. He always cried when we left him off, right up til starting school!!!! DD just shrugs her coat to the floor and runs into preschool, doesnt look back or wave or anything. At this rate DD2 will be just taking herself to preschool LOL

Actually thats the one great thing about giving up work, knowing none of them have to be being looked after by anyone else. Life as a working mother sucks doesnt it, no matter what you do, you lose (((hugs)))

I never realised how hard it was trying to keep up with all the posts here! Well am not gonna even attempt it, today has been a long day. Got up early and put on the slow cooker chicken something or other, I just threw it together! 30 minutes on the Wii, breakfast and then ready for work. Back home eat and dash around cleaning up dinner plates, change for cadets and off out again. Got home at 10pm, have hoovered the top floor (we're only a one bed),sorted out the airing cupboard and put clean washing away. Not a huge amount but OH kindly dusted while I hoovered so the place looks nice hehe. No spare room so tomorrow is a dodle, I was going to catch up on some of the bits I've missed but have been invited to a leaving dinner by one of the girls at work so may go to that. Hope your all well xx

BTW...sod them they're obviously not good enough for you! But I'd be hurt as well :([/quote]
I shouldnt be surprised. Cant remember if I mentioned the final straw that made me get my !!!!! in gear and actually resign - week before Xmas I had my annual review over the phone with my manager (he is based in the US). He was happy with my work so that was all fine.
Part of our reviews is your manager has to select 2 or more other people (Peers) to provide feedback and then he is supposed to use that to identify areas for improvement or training that is required, and the comments are meant to be for guidance.
Well my manager just told me all mine
    "she is hardly ever here"
"why does she leave at 3 when we have to work til 5" (cos thats when I'm paid til)
"this is a good company and she has to realise it is not a horrible big corporation" (it is a horrible big corporation with 20,000 world wide and anyway this is my opinion you cant comment on that surely ?!)
" she spend too much time talking about Mum-stuff with her friend" (actually this is probably a fair comment LOL)
"why does she get longer holidays" (I took agreed unpaid parental leave over the summer)
What a bunch of backstabbers. The comments are the thing that really hurt. I was off sick a fair bit last term - I had several tummy bugs, loads of migraines and a couple of big standard colds .
I have 3 small children who bring home every bug imaginable .
My husband was diagnosed with a congenital joint condition in July after a 2 week holiday from h3ll where he was in agony and misery, there is no cure he just has to manage the symptoms for the rest of hs life (he is 38).
My husband runs his own business which of course means he works all hours god sends and isnt much help at home, and the business is an eternal stressor.
We have 2 little kids and a baby at home.
We have no family help here at all.
My son's teacher was causing us all sorts of problems.
We were fighting a planning battle on the open space n front of our house (yes I know this is not big in the grand scheme of things but its consumed ALL of hubby's spare time and there isnt much of it anyway - since May and the stress of it I am sure is what has triggered the symptoms of his joint thing).
So is it any wonder I wasn't in the best of health ??? A couple of people at work knew I was under lots of stress at home but I didnt really go on about it, so the days I was in work I just went in did my work then came home, as you do. I didnt ask for loads of spare time off to be ill, I just had random days off when I felt too ill. With hindsight I wish I'd just got a sicknote for stress/depression back in about September and just not gone in.
And the thing that really hurt is that when I went in and said to a couple of friends about the negative comments in my review, they all said "oh yes its been noticed that you've been off ill a lot". One friend even said "but I said it wasnt like you cos you are so conscientcious". But not one of them bothered to come to me and say "are you ok ?", "can we help ?" etc. Not one. And thats what hurts. But although I sound like a bitter old hag I'm really not! It made it a much easier decision and has made it much easier to walk away :D

My husband used to work there too before he left to start the business, and going from having him there at work all the time to not was horrendous, we worked together for about 8 years, and I really missed him. I think it just was never the same after he left, how sad am I ??!!

Gah. I've done it again. Ranted I mean.
I must have a lot of pent up rantyness to get rid of!!!!

Hubs is fine by the way, managing symptoms ok, seems a lot less miserable.

I am actually feeling quite chipper today though it doesnt seem it from my posts does it !!! Sorry!!!!

  • well done ragz you did so well:T :T :T
I'm off to bed, am feeling hungry, with nothing to eat, so sleep's the best thing , I think!
DS travelled safely, but won't be back til tomorrow now, but no more silly trips, so i'm more relaxed now. plus it seemed a bit warmer today here
he's been bowling with his dad, spending a bit of quality one on one time, now that MIL has gone back to Japan!
so nite nite all, hugs to all who need them
~~healing vibes~~ to all that need them too

    see you tomorrow! :hello:

god that was a massiv epost wasnt it, sorry.

Been meaning to post all night to say:

I went to weightwatchers tonight and got weighed ready to start my weight loss (IYSWIM)
I put on 3 lbs since start of December which, considering how much I have eaten, is a miracle, I was sure it would be about 8 lbs.
The collective loss for the class was only 13.5 lbs over Christmas which of course is useless LOL and even worse when she told us that 10.5 of it was one bloke alone, so the rest of us between us lost 3 lbs :rotfl: :rotfl:

Anyway I hope all you Weight Loss Challengers have weighed yourselves ready to post a loss next Thursday (or before). Remember if you want me to add your details to the Wight Loss Lst near the start of the thread, PM me your loss before next Thursday.

Pigpen - do you have a catflap? Problem I've got is the flap. I've had to turn it to 'in only' as Woody watched the others and learnt how to get out - well he got his head and arms out before we gently pulled him back in! The older cats are not impressed at having their freedom restricted.

I do have a cat flap.. Peaches has sniffed about on it and watched (and jumped on) the others as they go in and out but hasn't tried to escape herself.. mine is quite high though so she might not be big enough to escape yet

Forgot to bring my power cable with me, and have used ALL my battery catching up with you lot!

    Just to say...

Jill - you're better off without them. I can't believe the way they've behaved.

Batteries - don't keep them plugged in all the time. Charge them up then run them down. If they're running down quickly, try recalibrating. Run it down, bung it in the freezer in a plastic bag over night, charge up fully and run all the way down without switching off, so it knows how long it lasts. Then recharge, but don't leave it plugged in all the time or it will happen again. Either charge & drain or work off the mains with the battery out.

I'll catch you all again tomorrow evening when I'm back home!
