 Morning all. Cold here but not as cold as I would be on the mainland! Will get going when I've finished my coffee.

I have some advice to ask for. If I go out in an evening and leave a mostly loaded dishwasher that needs only 3 cups and a bowl put in (I counted) before it goes on, would you expect to wake up this morning and see that is hasn't been done? Or would you expect your husband to be able to put it on and even better unload it so in the morning I can put a fresh load on? Also food got out of the cupboard, like cereal, would you expect them to be able to put it back?
Fluttering about an inch off the ground, I may fly properly one day and soar in the clouds!

Hi Gryfon - jealous that you're warmer than us !!! :rotfl:

I would expect the dishwasher to have been filled, switched on and emptied..however after 20 years of marriage this never happened. My exH seemed to think that the d/washer would spontaneously combust if he used it - treated it like it was radioactive. So in our house the only person who ever filled it, or switched it on, or emptied it was moi . It led to countless arguments.

I'm now starting some HHC's back to back to knock as much of this list as possible today because I then need to find a car. DH finally got told what's happening, and as of Monday he needs his car back. BUT without a car I can't get myself to work or DS to school. So the challenge & hunt starts - I'm thinking that I might hire for a few weeks so I'm not rushed into an iappropriate purchase if you know what I mean.

Right - kettle's boiled so best grab a coffee and crack on.. see you later with an update!

    Moam
Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.

    In short - No! He's a man?!

My DH is 55 - has lived all over the world, has a high flying executive type job, and can't do jack when it comes to domestics. Doesn't even know where we keep the vac (in fact, he once had a go at some tiny electrical job, and put the power out in the whole village for 7 hours). He wanted to 'help' last Sunday with prepping lunch (brisket and pots/veggies round the meat), asked him to peel and cop veg for me - he came to find me a few mins laters, looking really confused, with an onion in his hand. 'What do I do with this?' What can you say???

    Morning Ladies!

Just climbed out of my pit (lazy baggage), not quite ready to start flying yet - need 14 cups of tea and a packet of fags, then I'll be good to go:o
Hugs to all who need them, and keep safe if your'e going out.

    morning :hello:

haven't done much so far; also kids are dressed and at nursery.
d/w is about to finish. ehm, that's it :o

i'll tackle the playroom today. it's on my list for days now so today is THE day!
see if i can swap some furniture around to make it more 'usable' and put some toys in their bedrooms (they've only just started to play in their rooms)

lol jennybee - you had to think about when baby will be due?! when i was so close i was counting minutes!!!!!! - and you better take it easy young lady!

JillD i know all the places lol - i live not far from that homebase!
    gosh the world is small

re the wii fit: i just use it in the gear i am wearing - mostly when i find 20min or when i am in the mood (not often lately :o )
but with some exercises i do actualle work up a sweat  (like the boxing!)

and you just rant away! gosh, don't you feel so much better being out of that place?!? what harsh comments - probably all people with no kids!!!!
glad you can afford to leave them!!!

michelle i like the 'carrier bag' idea!! there are always things downstairs that should be upstairs and visaverca!!

kamperkat wow - you certainly deserve a big clap!!! :T

Gryfon expect = yes! know = no! that's a constant battle in our house. he just puts the dirty dishes in the sink (i even tried to make him just put the cutlery at least in the d/w basket on the counter so i don't have to collect it all together later - but he doesn't even manage that!)
i think i tell him every day!!!! i think 4 times last year he actually unloaded the d/w while i was already asleep (after i put it on of course) and when i see the kitchen next morning most things are stainding around on all the counters 'he just got distracted and he forgot to finish'!! on the other hand he's useless in loading the d/w. he gets in half the things i could fit in - and as for cereal or other boxes: guess who puts it all back. although most times lately i just call him and make him do it :D

It's absolutely freezing here, but the garden looks wonderful, as if everything has been dipped in icing sugar!

I've been doodling on here since doing the school run, and really must get going.

Okay, off to do the washing up, then the weekly shopping, and the bathroom today, as well as the main bedroom, as I didn't do the bathroom Monday.

JillD - Unhappily you are entirely dispensable at work - but entirely irreplaceable for your family. Hugs, you made the right decision I think! Also, please can you add me to the weight loss challenge? I lurked last time, but think I'll have to go public this time, I have to lose weight for my brother's wedding on 18th April! I weighed myself in Boots on Wednesday - start weight 10st 13lb (sigh - I put on the 5lbs I walked off at school last term over the Christmas...)
