Just need to sign up for the Great Manchester 10K run which has opened today.

oooh exciting! When is it ? I havent done any running since before DD2 pregnancy, ie 2 years ago! I really miss it but want to shift a bit of the weight first (using the gym!) before I do any more road running. Am planning to at least sign up for the Race For Life and maybe do an 8k in September.

The trouble with my kids is that you say they won't have something and they say "ok"  :rotfl:
mine too. I find it really hard to find any motivators for my son in particular. The problem is if we take something away he isn't able to control his temer or attitude or whatever long enough to get it back then he gets used to not having it and then doesnt even care. Currently I confiscated his lego about 3 days agO and he's stopped even asking for it now

Thanks Jill :) Hopefully things will look up soon - in the meantime, ex is coming here to see little un, as he can't really take him home.

Anyhow, been a busy busy day today.
Upstairs was off limits due to hub working nights, so instead -

Living room swept, dusted, floor mopped, tidied. Just the bookcase to sort now.

four loads of washing done, and is currently airing.

Dining room cleared and tidied. Corner where dog is cleaned out (she's a mucky beggar and the wall gets dirty)

Kitchen tidied and part reorganised - some stuff moved into shed that I don't use much.

Bread done for the next couple of days.

Tea cooked for us and parents. Sausage, yorkshire pudding, mashed potato, veg and gravy.

Kitchen re cleaned. I'm such a messy cook!

Emails sorted out. Inbox/sent box/deleted items clear.

A hundred or so competitions entered :) Here's hoping I get lucky!

    Downstairs mopped throughout.

Tomorrow, I tackle the upstairs muhahahahah. Well, as soon as hub gets up from his pit anyway. Last night tonight then he has three days off :D

Saturday evening, we are off to the theatre. My good old dad got us tickets for the pantomime as a treat :)

Oooh, and bathroom S&S too :D
Proud to be dealing with my debts :T

Don't throw away food challenge started 30/10/11 £4.45 wasted.

    Storecard balance -[STRIKE] £786.60[/STRIKE] £708

Its a small office of about 20, there were 6 of us when I started and only 1 person has been there longer than me. I have worked there almost 12 years - they didn't even get me a card  The office manager (who started 2 months after me and who is a good friend -so I thought - who went to Uni with my husband - didnt even get up to say goodbye). Has made me realise I am better off out of it and I have no regrets about leaving.

Jill, that's really mean, you really are better off out of it.

I've got half a mealplan in my head and DH has a few ideas from a new recipe book so that should be easy to sort!

When I lived where you do I gave up supermarkets for lent and only used the market, the butcher and local shops - loved it though it's harder when i'm working 9-5...

But, if you're working from home tomorrow, you can at least attempt to go for it gal! Something in the back of my mind says you had a pink shopping trolley?

As I said earlier, I'm off tomorrow. I have two items planned. The first is to take the dog on a long, long, long walk because she's stir crazy having just come out of season and I wasn't letting her out anywhere except the garden just in case!

The second is to do some local sourcing foodstuff. I'm fed up with the non-choice there appears to be in supermarkets at the mo. I will do the butcher in the villagey part and then the Saturday market for the veg.

I'm done for the day (I have just done an online shop cause they were giving me £10 off, it is free delivery too and I've stocked up on things I use which are on offer).

Boddy - when are you hoping to retire?
Pink - hi cause I've not seen you post today
Mudbath - what have you got him? It is DS3 birthday in a couple of weeks and I don't have a clue what to get him
Hex - sorry today was not a good work day
Pooh - hope you are all ok
Flower - how are you liking your new room layout
Pigpen - what age did you let your kittens outside?

Just need to pass a couple of bits to hubbie in the loft, set WM and I'm off to bed. Sleep tight my friends.

    Evening all.

New swimming lesson went well. Had dinner so just going to tidy up the kitchen and shorten DS3's ridiculously long Judo belt.

Jill that's hard to beleive about your work, what has happened in the past when people have left?
well I think I am the first person to leave since I got back from maternity leave, and before I went on maternity leave it was a different receptionist and traditionally its always been the receptionist who kind of organises these things. In the past we've done a card and a collection and then bought some kind of gift. In fact I had been there 3 years when I left, things didnt work out (long story) and I went back to the same office but different position, and when I left after the 3 years I got an MO3 player - which in those days were really newfangled, noone had them (hard to believe now), it came with a memory card that fitted about 5 tracks LOL but I was blown away with what an amazing present it was.
There's been masses of turnover in staff since then, like I said I was almost the longest serving, and now this new receptionist. So I think she just hasn't bothered and the rest are all too damn lazy to think of it. I dont think its that she doesnt know or is too timid, shes really mouthy, she does all the other new baby etc type cards and collections, its all a bit bizarre.
Oh well maybe they will send me a card or something. Who needs them anyway
