(I also ordered The Thrift Book (India Knight), The Complete Tightwad Gazette (2nd hand) and PennyPinchers Revisited(2nd Hand) - Don't know if that's the sort of thing you're looking for?..
Off to read India Knight now...
Oooh I have The Thrift Book and it's absolutely brilliant. I haven't actually taken it upstairs since buying it as I keep rereading it. I enjoy India Knights' fiction books but I didn't realise that she was a bankrupt and was struggling like the rest of us, that made it more interesting to read what she was suggesting.
There is also a piece from her in Februarys' issue of the Sainsburys Magazine which is interesting too.Mortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

gryfon: kids who talk back get one chance and then they get sat down and have to stop whatever they were doing! Thanks for all the birthday wishes! The cake has gone down well, and my team have bought me a vase, some flowers and a bottle of wine! I'm really touched, as in general, as a company, we don't do birthdays... and I don't know of any other manager whose team give them presents!
I went into the office today to clear out a few bits from my desk - about 10 cup-a-soups, some fruity teabags, some raisins, my mug, and a box of tampax :rotfl:
Its a small office of about 20, there were 6 of us when I started and only 1 person has been there longer than me. I have worked there almost 12 years - they didn't even get me a card  The office manager (who started 2 months after me and who is a good friend -so I thought - who went to Uni with my husband - didnt even get up to say goodbye). Has made me realise I am better off out of it and I have no regrets about leaving.
Its been a strange first week to my SAHM-ness, as DD1 not yet back to preschool, but so far we have been to soft play, we have been to Coral Reef (water park, small stuff only open during term time no big slides etc), and today DD2 had swim lesson then we went to friends to play. Its been a great week and its been so lovely to spend some time doing nice thing with my childrenJan GC: £202.65/£450 (as of 4-1-12)
