Back with my grubs. PO queue was right out the door so the package can be sent tomorrow.. I'm not that keen and it was only paid for today.

I just had a snarl at a guy in sainsbugs. I had 4 of the children with me.. standing quite nicely while I bought sweets for the panto.. and this pig came and stood behind us and really nasty said ' will you children move so I can get past' ... I replied ' excuse me works quite nicely, there is no need to be rude!'.. and being the big hard man he walked away.. it was amusing though because he was in front of us in the queue and a woman needed to be by and said excuse me and the children parted like the red sea.. he just turned away... Sadly some grown ups have no manners and it is up to the children to show them how to behave properly... It does annoy me though when people think they can talk to children like dirt because they are little!
I'll second that, especially the elderly ones who think age gives them an absolute right to rudeness

    pigpen...some people are so roode!

Ok tell me if I've over reacted to this. I was clearing our room and in DD2's pillowcase which she had her presents in were some chocolates she hadn't got out. So I got them out and left them on the bed so I could put the case in the wash. Children come home and go upstairs to get changed and I hear DS shouting about chocolate. So up I go to find he'd opened one packet and given something to DD1 who'd already eaten it! I've told them I'm not happy as it was DD2s chocolate and they should know by now to ask, now she has to go without , ok she'll never notice but that's not the point. They've been sent to their rooms whilst I think what to do, any ideas? I'm just so fed up of being ignored, answered back, told no all the time and them completely undermining any authority I have! Ok they're not violent, are polite to people etc but at home it's a nightmare and half the time I dread them coming home and not listening to me.
When its time for a treat, don't give them one but pointedly give treat to dd2 explaining why:D

My friend's daughter was particularly willful, so she removed all her toys from her room and made her earn them back. If she misbehaved she lost one.

The main rule choose the battles you know you will win, because if you don't they will walk all over you. If they say there not bothered, carry it out and see what they do. I've done this and you can bet your bottom dollar they were bothered.

Unfortunately, Mum's have to be 'mean' sometimes - Its in our job description - But the efforts worth it otherwise we store up a lot more trouble and heartache for ourselves and them later on

    Good Luck:money:

Ragz - I finally see the pix! Well done on the bookcase
Cazzie - congrats on your engagement
Justamum - an alternative solution is that a polo has four holes - a neck, a waist and two arms... if you think of the polo neck jumper...
JillD - hugs on the leaving work thing
Mudders - excellent news on the money things - see your wrist break was a blessing in disguise!
Rach - enjoy your day working from home.

I'm giving myself a night off from any serious flying. I've managed to wangle tomorrow off :D I've reached a point where I'm now waiting on other people and they won't be ready until Monday.

So, I shall put my feet up tonight - apart from dinner (fish and chips a la OS - i.e home made wedges and baked salmon steaks!)

New swimming lesson went well. Had dinner so just going to tidy up the kitchen and shorten DS3's ridiculously long Judo belt.

Jill that's hard to beleive about your work, what has happened in the past when people have left?
