Ella_ella_ella good news on the voucher - and GO with the complaint.
Pigpen you are quite right - both about rude adults and following through. If you threaten consequences you HAVE to carry out your threat. Fot this reason I very rarely threaten to ground... I have other punishments...but you KNOW you are. pigpen...some people are so roode!
Ok tell me if I've over reacted to this. I was clearing our room and in DD2's pillowcase which she had her presents in were some chocolates she hadn't got out. So I got them out and left them on the bed so I could put the case in the wash. Children come home and go upstairs to get changed and I hear DS shouting about chocolate. So up I go to find he'd opened one packet and given something to DD1 who'd already eaten it! I've told them I'm not happy as it was DD2s chocolate and they should know by now to ask, now she has to go without , ok she'll never notice but that's not the point. They've been sent to their rooms whilst I think what to do, any ideas? I'm just so fed up of being ignored, answered back, told no all the time and them completely undermining any authority I have! Ok they're not violent, are polite to people etc but at home it's a nightmare and half the time I dread them coming home and not listening to me.smoke-free since Aug 2003 :j JDWilliams [strike]£479.55 [/strike] [strike]£417.92[/strike] [STRIKE]£318.33[/STRIKE] £0.00NSD in Feb 1 so far Ambrose Wilson [strike]£464.49[/strike] [strike]£422.76[/strike] £405.11:T

Have you tried the 1,2,3 method... I NEVER get to 3 (apart from with DD5 who is going to be an absolute nightmare by 5!!)
they are told once.. and the potential consequences
Second time I just say .. do you WANT me to count to 3? X will happen if I do..
Then the count begins.. IF I get to 3 (which is VERY rare) they are dealt out whatever punishment has been told.. confiscation of toys, bars on trips, no dessert etc..
There is a book.. 1,2,3 Magic .. which explain further but it is fab.. worked for us for all the children. It is all about following through with discipline and cause and effect.. it is good.
That's the thing isn't it - following through, threats are all well and good, but if they know you won't do it, then they just carry on - age old really...*hugs* toochoosey. It's just so hard as I don't want to be mean and force them to do stuff, but I also end up in tears because I'm not sure where I went wrong!
You haven't gone wrong, kids all over the world do it to their parents, but sometimes you have to be the mean mummy and force them - they need to know the boundaries have been set and that you will stick to it.LBM April 2013 - £29,000.00Vanquis CC's PAID - Debenhams SC PAID - A+L OD PAID - Asda CC £783.75Barclaycard CC £1400.78 - BoS CC PAID - Freemans Cat PAIDF/D Loan & CC £1458.96 - Santander Loan PAID - Mum Loan PAIDRBS OD PAID - F/D OD £1026.52Weekly Grocery Challenge - £95.00 budget / spend £-0 -

Ooooh I love books like this. Might have to get it. Have got the next book listed...'How to talk so kids listen...' which I really like, Siblings without Rivalry, (pretty good) and Raising Girls, (Rubbish so don't bother).
Anyway...Have received the box of clothes Pigpen...Thank you so much. Some of it will fit now and some have been put away for later... The purple coat is definately too big now but will probably fit my 3 1/2 year old niece, then it'll come back to us. Let me know how much the postage is and I'll post a cheque. I'll add on the 6p I found in the coat pocket!!!! LOL
Have been in all day but absent from here while I do some major tidying. Here's what I did.
Moved all clutter from lounge
Moved drawer unit from DD1's bedroom to lounge to put DD2's toys in.
Moved smaller drawer unit from lounge to DD1 room.
TD x 1
DW x 2
WM x 1
Moved all clutter from hall
Wiped paintwork in lounge
Cleaned white chocolate off lounge windows
Swept hall
Swept kitchen
Hoovered lounge
Cooked Chilli for tea
Set table
Not bad considering I was entertaining a 2 year old at the same time and fitted in some sort of an interview/survey thing for the National Statistics Office (or something like that).
Sorry its a long post....just wanted to list what I'd done so it'll motivate me to do more later/tomorrow.
Just need to sign up for the Great Manchester 10K run which has opened today.:eek:0 -
Right hope I remember to reply to everyone!
indigostar...good idea, shall put that to them. They were only chocolates out of a variety pack but still...
toochoosey...mine are 9, 6 and 20 months. Night times are awful as the big ones get together and talk, well the 6 year old goes into his sisters room. Last night wasn't too bad, I went up told them they were going to bed and turned lights off and scarily enough it worked!
I've found some spare bookcase spaceMr G loves his train mags so I can only stack them and get him to take them to his basement  Mags of mine I'll go through later.
Fluttering about an inch off the ground, I may fly properly one day and soar in the clouds!

I don't take mine out in public through choice but apparently I HAVE to pick them up from school
IF he had asked and they had ignored him fair enough, I'd have told them off for that.. but to just be rude in the first place annoys me..
Exactly, My mum's pet hate with us as kids was rudeness, so we were always ultra polite, and I do the same with mine for that reason - hence I always give anyone a chance - kids or adults - before I run them over with my trolley...:rotfl: :rotfl:
The other day when I had THAT row with hubby and walked home, leaving him in the car, I was in such a fowl mood, and as I walked around Mr T's, there was a grocery lady with one of their trolleys filling shelves, changing prices, etc and she just walked straight out infront of me, nearly hitting me with it - I was not happy, and said - who's the customer here? me or you? If you're going to aim for people with your trolley at least be polite enough to say sorry about it! I was very loud, everyone looked, and I just turned and walked away, she went a bit red and just stood there...:o I was a right stroppy mare...LBM April 2013 - £29,000.00Vanquis CC's PAID - Debenhams SC PAID - A+L OD PAID - Asda CC £783.75Barclaycard CC £1400.78 - BoS CC PAID - Freemans Cat PAIDF/D Loan & CC £1458.96 - Santander Loan PAID - Mum Loan PAIDRBS OD PAID - F/D OD £1026.52Weekly Grocery Challenge - £95.00 budget / spend £-0 -
