*hugs* toochoosey. It's just so hard as I don't want to be mean and force them to do stuff, but I also end up in tears because I'm not sure where I went wrong! I know I wasn't a perfect child but I'm sure I sort of attempted to tidy my room when asked, and didn't answer back that much. Although I do remember taking things without asking but I was sneakier and only got caught once that I remember :rotfl:

Well they're still both upstairs. DD1 has done her homework...without asking! And is now tidying her room by counting and making maths sums with the bits she's picking up. I think DS is going through toys in his room as well. I've told them that if there room isn't perfect then I'm not going to have a go, well I can't as mine is a tip...but I don't want it filthy if you know what I mean.

BTW anyone want to tell me where I should put this big pile of books and magazines rescued from down the side of my bed? I haven't even touched Mr G's side which is also full of books and magazines! Oh and I may be able to shut my wardrobe doors soon :j

I do counting to 5 and usually only get to 4...however that only gets them going for about 5 minutes before they slip  Get a bit bored going over it again and again! It's great for getting them in the car though, or to get them dressed :D

Just in from yet another grim day at work. I really, really hate doing nasty things to nice people  .

I need to empty and fill the DW urgently, and think of something for dinner. Blinding headache and I keep going wierdly dizzy. One of the reasons I stopped being full time HR is because I just don't cope with the stress. Chain eating chocolate is not the solution.

    HHC 4.30 to 5 anyone?

If you don't need the magazines.. how about donating them to a care home.. the old lovelies love them, and the books too? O rjust freecycle/charity shop them if you cannot sell them on.

If you want to keep them you'll have to build a library!

I just had a snarl at a guy in sainsbugs. I had 4 of the children with me.. standing quite nicely while I bought sweets for the panto.. and this pig came and stood behind us and really nasty said ' will you children move so I can get past' ... I replied ' excuse me works quite nicely, there is no need to be rude!'.. and being the big hard man he walked away.. it was amusing though because he was in front of us in the queue and a woman needed to be by and said excuse me and the children parted like the red sea.. he just turned away... Sadly some grown ups have no manners and it is up to the children to show them how to behave properly... It does annoy me though when people think they can talk to children like dirt because they are little!

:T Must admit, due to various circumstances, I am not keen on kids anywhere (even my own sometimes... :rotfl: ) BUT, I always give them the benefit of the doubt first, ask them nicely to move, etc, and sometimes they do, saying sorry even, and sometimes they just look in that smirky, juvenile way that kids do and stay where they are - well, they had their chance then....:rotfl:

I don't take mine out in public through choice but apparently I HAVE to pick them up from school :(

IF he had asked and they had ignored him fair enough, I'd have told them off for that.. but to just be rude in the first place annoys me..

Mmmm this vigourous flyladying business has put my lower back out. But I can see my bedroom floor whilst hobbling to get into bed tonight so that will make a nice change ;-)

Can anyone point me in the direction of a thread on recommended reading oldstyle books. Not that I 'need' any new books but Amazon is a calling. I have tried a search but couldn't find anything.

    Thank You.
