Toots - hun, hugs with your dilemma. But, do you REALLY want to go? It seems to me you don't - besides the expense etc. etc. Would you actually enjoy it if you went? You say you'd be flying down - does that mean you'd have to stop overnight - or dash away to catch a flight back then get home really late? Potentially more expense with hotels, in company that you don't seem to like - and that you have worked so hard to distance yourself from. She's not called toxic for nothing.

If I were you I would consider this:
As life is all too short and us flyladies are striving hard to declutter our lives, do I want to spend potentially two days out of my life, in a strange place miles from home, in the company of Toxic (and others I'm not particularly fond of) who I've been trying to declutter from my life and spending money to do it that I probably can't afford? What better fun could I be having if I didn't go?
I'm sure you could come up with a suitable excuse not to go (hospital appointment perhaps? Prior engagement?) but could send a card and a small Debenhams voucher or something..
awh soappie I knew I could rely on you to give me sound advice!! yes you are right - and yes it would involve staying away for at least 2 nights - but we would be staying at the daughters so no real expense apart from a gift for having me! - but yes I could be on here with my flylady REAL friends!!! And I cant really afford it - I dont know how they can either - he went bankrupt a few months ago!
Thank you for putting it in perspective!!:A

Gawd Toots - surely that would be even worse than staying in a hotel? At least in a hotel you can retire to your room and lock the door!

I know my list is huge but I havent done much flying yesterday or today.
tomorrow I need to post an ebay parcel and find something for my cousin's 50th birthday on saturday and get it posted so I am hoping (fingers crossed) to get up shaprish and go and do that straight away and then come back and fly!
But then I will waste time trying to catch up with what you have all been doing!!

Or maybe I will fly until the afternoon and then go! I might have thought about what to get by then!

Miss A is learning about boats and poems at school this term, do any of you wonderful people have any poems about boats/sea/sailing that Y3 children would enjoy?

I have done a bit of hunting round and searching through our books. The obvious one I got was Edward Lear and the Tale of the Jumbilies.

I need to go and get something to eat but will be back in a wee while.
