Ok who here actually looks at washing symbols in clothing? I've just been looking (after my disaster earlier) and half my stuff needs to be on an acrylic wash and some even on a gentler cycle and I've just been dumping it all in on a 40 wash :o:rotfl: Wonder if my clothes will last better if I put them on the right wash!

I normally look when I buy anything (which isn't often cos nothing ever fits properly!)

The problem is... if I buy anything that needs something different that a 40 wash it will sit in the bottom of my laundry basket for weeks after I've worn it because I can't bring myself to put one thing in the WM!!! Then I eventually give in and hand wash the damn thing!! Even OH's suits are all 40 washes apart from one but he can take that to the dry cleaner himself if he wants to wear it....

I've got a 'daily wash' cycle on my washing machine, so everything goes on that. I think it's 40C

Glad to know it's not just me! Everything seems to be 40 degrees, just different 40 degree washes! Think I have enough for separate washes though, also I have a half load button which I can use. Might try it and see what happens!

  I will 'fess up that the only thing I've looked at is whether the stuff can go in the machine at all - which might explain a few things, LOL! I won't buy jumpers/skirts/trousers that are Dry Clean Only - I hate the thought of the chemicals - and I'm not keen on handwashing, although I do handwash my bras (when I remember - I've had a few menopausal moments when the odd bra has been whacked into the machine by mistake). My big bugbear has been the Supersoft Acrylic jumpers from Sainsbugs - one wash and they are a stiff as a board (and that's with me lovingly washing them by hand, so gawd know what they'd be like on my normal 40 synthetics wash! ;) )
