I need to vac up the drinking chocolate powder which DD2 has managed to get on the floor:rolleyes: Are my children the only ones who like to eat drinking powder rather than have it hot with milk?:rolleyes:

If there's no chocolate in the house and I need a fix, I have to admit to eating it!

Brilliant words of wisdom there Jennybee - and why not have a star chart? It works for kids. You might want to put it in code so 'outsiders' don't know what you're doing though - My Mum is a prime example and thinks I'm nuts with my lists (not just flylady ones) so it would just give her something else to talk about... not that I care, it's all in good fun :D (they seem to think I have OCD - god knows how with the state of my house) mind, I think I have a little OCD person hidden inside trying to get out of the chaos - I love order and symmetry - things have to be just so when they're actually done (apart from pegs! :D )

Do you know, it's weird...I think I have "all or nothing" OCD!! If I ever get something tidy then it has to stay like it or it irritates me no end.....however, once things start creeping back into the hot spots it would appear that the "Can't be ar*ed" fairy comes along and hits me on the head. :(

I'm not even allowed to do crafty type stuff with the step children because it traumatises me if they don't do it perfectly and when they decorated our christmas tree this year I had to leave the room and leave them to it! I just can't watch!!

I think I am what is known as "complicated"!

And I shall produce a star chart to go on the side of my cupboard! I even have some stars in the drawer (I knew being a stationery hoarder would come in handy sometime!)

I am going to do food now as I am ravenous and have to be at college.. ooh best ring hubby.. for 6 so best eat before I go.. I don't seem to last very long on cereal. Coud do cereal and slimfast.. chocolate one of course.. I have to down the rancid stuff in one but seeing as I aren't eating enough anyway it comes in as a handy calorie/nutrient boost.. I'm waffling now....

I've done nothing else off my list today.. cos I am lazy..

    Hi,

Hope everyone's well. Have been busy recently sorting out the spare bedroom. We dumped loads of stuff in there when we moved in, so I've unpacked & moved everything out so I can continue painting. I did a second coat on 3 of the 4 walls last night, so it just needs finishing & the skirting boards so my brother-in-law is going to finish it either today or tomorrow, as I don't feel confident doing the skirting boards. The carpet then needs laying, which brother-in-law will do.

We've got a large walk-in cupboard in the hallway so I cleaned the floor & put the large items, like the wheelchair, in there.

It just seems like there's so much to do! My great niece is premature & she's just come out of hospital but she's got chronic lung disease so she's on oxygen 24/7. Her mum's got 2 other kidds as well & no partner, so my brother-in-law has to help her out as well. But we'll get organised eventually

Thank you to all of you - just reading the replies and realising I'm NOT the only one has made me feel tons better. :DI seem to have this idea that everyone else keeps their house looking fab all the time and think I'm just useless for struggling!

Wanted to find an interior designer just to get some ideas of what I should do re tiling in the main bathroom and furniture in the living room. Have been quoted 10% of the total cost of our renovation :eek:. I don't need any help with that!!!! Urgh, ready to knock the whole thing on the head.

Where do you live in London? I might know someone who can help - they would just come in and advise and probably just charge you a day/ 1/2 days rate or something - what's this 10% nonsense - sounds like they think you want them to do everything, sourcing, planning, etc... but just to give advice shouldn't be too much at all - I can give you some free advice if you want to email me some photos and stuff?

Nope.. I spoon it down the neck like it is going out of fashion.. so I stopped buying it!

I have a spoonful in coffee as a treat when I'm being good (not now obviously as still being very lazy...)

Oh, you fit right in here - stationary addict too - welcome!!! :rotfl:

I'm the same - Everything has to be just so - it'll do isn't something I like saying, My DS laughs so much at me - I make him hang up the towels he has taken into his bedroom and thrown on the bed/floor/curtain pole/etc... They have to be in half longways with the pattern facing out so they can hang properly on the towel rail - he just chucks them on and I make him take them off and redo them - "what difference does it make?" is his favorite saying...

(mind you, when I make him do that and the bathroom is looking as it is at the moment, I do wonder myself too...:o )
