. All thanks to Stuart pointing me towards the Parkers site enabling me to know exactly what I should get for my car and how much I should be looking to pay for my 'new' car.

Awww, that's given me a nice feeling this morning to know it's helped you especially at a time when you have the concerns for your father too. :A

Ok car bought, I had my very sensisble head on - I've gone for...don't laugh..the Kia Ceed, 60+ mpg, £35 a year tax, 6 years, yes 6(!) remaining maufacturers warrenty and drove like a good 'un, I was amazed how 'punchy' it was, going by details online I thought it was going to be very slow off the mark (need a decent bit of omph for roundabouts I find!) Most importantly its got a 5* NCAP rating.
I haggled well:money:, and also got a really good price for my car in part exchange as well as 12 months interest free credit. All thanks to Stuart pointing me towards the Parkers site enabling me to know exactly what I should get for my car and how much I should be looking to pay for my 'new' car.

I know 2 people with Kia's (not the Ceed though) and both love them. However, not interested in your haggling, what matters is: WHAT COLOUR :rotfl:

Glad to hear dad making progress x

Pink of course! With lovely hidey holes for my (pink) lipsticks, space on the back parcel shelf for my pink nodding dog, lovely pink furry steering wheel cover to help keep my hands warm in the winter mornings.;)

  • Good news on the money front (just as well after spending ££££s on a car yesterday!) Dog insurance renewal came through, £155.88 with £70 excess plus 10% of the overall bill:confused:. Managed to get much higher cover for £126.00 should get £40 cashback so £86 for better cover and much lower excess:money:

OMG you checked for PINK...you're so funny!!! Shhhsss its a secret! Lets just say its very common, probably the most common coloured car on british roads! Don't get too much of a choice when you want a certain model about one year old!
