I whizz it up with loads of basil to make a pasta sauce. Also nice with cooked spinach added if you have some in the fridge.0

I cook some pasta (any variety), drain it and return to the saucepan then add creme fraiche and some crumbled roquefort cheese. Give it a good stir so everything is warm and mixed, then dish it up. Yummy, quick and economical!0

Hi - I have 3/4 tub of Creme Freche which i opened tonight to moisten up some frozen pasta - what can i cook with the rest of it that can then be frozen ?
The reason it needs freezing is that sat / sun / mon meals are already sorted and the creme freche is only good for 3 days after opening ?
ThanksIt's not paranoia if they really are after you.0 -

For a quick and easy gravy when roasting a chicken, add some red onions (cut into wedges) to the roasting pan for the last 45 minutes or so. Remove the chicken from the tin and, while it rests, tip a 250g carton of crème fraiche into the tin with the onion and juices and heat through gently while stirring. If you want to thin it and make it go further, pour in some stock. Taste and season with salt and pepper if necessary.

Anyone know if I could use creme fraiche instead of double cream in a recipe? I was thinking of trying it in Key Lime Pie for a very tangy taste but I'm concerned it might not thicken up enough. Most of the suggestions on this thread are savoury so I don't know if anyone's tried it.0

I make a quick welsh rarebit by combining cheddar cheese with creme fraiche and grainy mustard until it resembles a paste. Spread over toast and grill until bubbling- makes a tasty change from plain old cheese on toast.0

Does anyone have a recipe for tomato and creme fraiche pasta sauce please? I only ever make bolognaise for pasta and want to try something different!
Also, can you add creme fraiche at the beginning of cooking time in a slow cooker and let it cook for the duration (6 hours or so)? All the recipes I've seen add it near the end of cooking time.0 -
Hi guys
I have 2 tubs of creme fraiche about to go 'on the turn', and desperate fo rideas to use them up.
Anyone with ideas?
Most receipeis have it as a garnish or addition in small quantities, but I have 2 large tubes to get rid of!"This is a forum - not a support group. We do not "owe" anyone unconditional acceptance of their opinions."0 -
