Heat packs on the outside of the face are not a good idea.
If you have an abscess it will tend to move towards the heat and if it comes out onto the surface the resulting sinus will scar. Only seen it happen once but I wouldnt want to see it again.
    Call a dentist asap please.
Corsodyl is only good for gum problems, and is only a help, not a cure
    Jeesypeeps, you folk are scary.

I have caved and called my dentist, who I missed an appointment with aaaages ago, so had to pay them £15 before they would make an appointment as I owed them money for that. Barstewards.

They can't see me till Thursday even though my face aches (Grrr) and will only look at what's causing the toothache, so I will have to go back again for my fillings in the future, but I am sorting it out.

No more face packs either, I'm flipping terrified now

I asked the nice lady in Boots what would take the edge off the pain, and I'm going to be alternating Paracetomol and Ibuprofen for the next couple of days.

Real dentist - will this do me any good? I will happily pay cashmoney for better drugs, but didn't want to waste money...

Alternating Ibuprofen and Paracetamol is 100% what I would advise
Other drugs such as those combined with codeine are a bit rubbish for dental problems.

If heat really helps try using hot (but dont scald yourself) water held over the offending area in your mouth. That way if there is infection it will come to the surface through the gum, which wont scar. Stick with the painkillers 1st though

Awwwhh, poor you f_f, nothing worse than toothache, shame jigglebug's in Derbyshire eh?!
If it's any consolation, I really dread going to the dentist too but it's never ever as bad as I imagine so you'll be fine. If it doesn't improve though, might be worthwhile phoning the dentist first thing tomorrow morning to see if they have any cancellations though?

OOh f_f - how's you now? Is the ibuprofen / paracetamol working? Hope you can hang on 'til your appointment. Practise lots of deep breathing and positive thoughts for the dentist trip xxx
One step at a time ;)

Face pain now reduced to dull ache, which I can cope with, although it sometimes comes on so strongly that I have to hold my face until it stops hurting. I don't know why that works, but it makes me feel better :rotfl:

Nothing else to report really. I emptied my Sealed Pot the other day (Naughty!) because I knew there was quite a bit in it - turned out it was £120!! I have put this aside for Emergencies. I didn't seal my tub back up right away and haven't been as good at putting my money away. So, during the bits of the football when I couldn't bear to look, I have resealed my Massive Margarine Tub and put all the odds and sods of change back in it. Sealed Potting with a vengeance again :D

My plan now, unless anything horrible happens, is not to open the Sealed Pot until before Christmas.

Right, going to have a cuppa and sleep for a while. Will ramble at you all in the morning!
