    Evening all!

Hope you're all having a lovely weekend :D

I have been to see Star Trek today and LOVED IT! No, it's not like the Star Trek we know, but it has promise, and if JJ Abrams doesn't f*ck it up it could be an excellent franchise again. I have hope! There were bits I didn't like (Nokia product placement, gies a break! Big monster for no reason on a random ice planet? Unnecessary) but otherwise it was brilliant :j

I have been to the supermarket and picked up some mammoth bargains including:

    • 2 x Tuna Steaks for £1.61
    • MASSIVE t-bone steak for £1 !! Only one, but there must be a way I can stretch it to make a yummy meal - ideas please!
    • 2 x doughnuts for 12p
    • 2 x muffins for 12p
Myself and my friend went to Asda and Tesco, and she was amazed that I got two bags of shopping in Tesco for under a fiver, yay me!

Nothing else to report really, just about to go and serve dinner (Later than normal due to cinema and supermarket excursion) and then watch some telly.

    Enjoy what's left of Sunday!

The low-level toothache I have been trying to ignore for two days has turned into TOOTHACHE. It throbs. A lot. The right-hand side of my face aches from my ear right down to my front teeth. Ouch.

    To lighten the mood though....

I tried to find a hot water bottle, as when I have pain like this a heat pack helps, and couldn't find one. All I have is a microwavable cuddly cow (One of those wheat pack things) which is now wedged between my shoulder and my face like some kind of fresian parrot. This ridiculous arrangement is the only way I can still type! It is helping the pain, but smells of warm hob nobs, which isn't helping.

I look like a fool. And my face hurts.

    Woe is me.

I think it might be, although I have a horrible fear of dentists. I was told I needed three fillings the last time I went (18 months+ ago) but didn't go back for treatment as I was afraid :o

F_F you have my sympathy, tooth ache is horrendous .....
think you may have to be brave & visit the shop of horrors (AKA dentist) before it gets even worse......might just be infection that antibiotocs will cure?

Can recommend Boots Dental Pain Relief though, to take the edge off?

    big hugs your way

I totally understand, but please go - a filling will be over in less time than it takes to drink a cup of tea and then you can relax, but if you leave it and the decay gets worse, it might mean having a tooth out/ getting an abscess/gum disease, etc... (I'll let your mind wander on those... evil thing that I am...;)) I know that sounds awful, but in a way you should be more scared of them than of going to the dentist IYSWIM. Can someone go with you? I have to go with my DD and hold her hand all the way through as she's petrified although really relieved once it's over. They really are good nowadays and there is no pain now with a filling, just lots of prodding and pulling which is uncomfortable more than anything. We'll nag you till you've sorted it if you like - we're good like that and you would do it to us...;)

    Aww, more F_F :(

Try Corsodyl Mouthwash (you can get it in Boots) it is what dentists recommend when you have gum disease and stuff, and when I had my weird little abscess it sorted that out pronto. :D

Of course, you still need to see the dentist. But it might stop stuff getting worse! :)

Heat packs on the outside of the face are not a good idea.
If you have an abscess it will tend to move towards the heat and if it comes out onto the surface the resulting sinus will scar. Only seen it happen once but I wouldnt want to see it again.
    Call a dentist asap please.
Corsodyl is only good for gum problems, and is only a help, not a cure
