My £50 Quidco payment for opening my current account with A&L is now showing as Received, due to pay in March - whoop whoop!!
If anyone has bought the Sunday Times and doesn't want their Noel Gallagher CD would they maybe consider passing it on to me? If you could comment/PM by lunchtime to save me running to [strike]temptation[/strike] the shops! Thanks

Morning fresian ....
Sorry to hear that you are still feeling down re: your shower costs , but on the plus side at least you have the money to cover the costs in your " emergency fund " which is great.....
I think it's a great idea to use your bonus towards a break awayYou have been doing " fantastically well " since you started bugeting and getting your debts down ..... So i think you have " more than earnt " your well deserved break ....
Sorry can't help you out with the Sunday times cd though ..... but if you get stuck then i'll ask at work tomorrow if anyone has one that they don't want ....
Have a great day...
Soiree on PAD tonight if you are around....

Hey F_F
Glad to hear that you are back. Still not good about the shower but at least you have cash to cover it and will not have to add to your debt. Fingers crossed after this is fixed you will be fine on the repairs front for a long time.
I think it is a brilliant idea that you are using your bonus for a holiday. You were not sure if you were going to get it so I think you deserve a treat as you have worked very hard at all this debt mallarkey for the last few months.
Keep your chin up budgeteer.:beer:Weekly Spend Challenge: £0/£30

Yeah defo use your bonus to treat yourself. Look at everyone you've inspired and how well you've done! Put a token tenner towards the debts so you can feel all angelic then go and enjoy yourself.
That is a massive amount for the shower tray, do you have to use the Men With Spanner (TM) or are you allowed to shop around for a better deal?
You could always go and hang around outside the newsagents and ask people if they want their CD! xxThs signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it...0 -
Just popping in to say hi and catch up. Sorry to hear about the shower, guess the only good thing is that you have the money put aside - still a pain though.
Don't blame you for treating yourself with the bonus, you've done so well you deserve it.
Take care xxNo spend days for March = 3Money to joint savings 2009 = £100.00Money to personal savings 2009 = £0.000 -
Morning all!
Just about to go and wash my hair with a jug again (Bah, humbug!) but not going to let it get me downWill be hotfooting it over to my best pals house again later to use her shower :rotfl: We were going to take them out to say thanks, but cash is tight for all involved so I'm going to ask her and her other half over next weekend for M&S meal deal goodness - dine in for £15 this time and it feeds four.
Not a lot of news to report since yesterday as all I did was sit around playing computer games. Quake online is possibly the most fun you can have with your clothes onIf any of you are playing it, my user name is the same, add me and I shall hit you with my gauntlet
My brother was thrilled when I offered to pick and order his Mothers Day flowers for him to save him the hassle. Mwahahaaa!! Paid for via Quidco (Should be a £7 payout) and my iPoints credit card.
I also spent quite a long time looking for cheap car rental for my trip away. For some reason, 4 days is about £85 in a Focus-sized car, but when you get to 5 days it's £125. Any offers on how to reduce this? We're only going up for four days but would like the car for an extra day just to go for a drive out of the city.
Right, time to attack my hair with my [strike]gravy jug[/strike] specialised hair washing device.
Don't let the Mondays get you

Morning F_F! If it makes you feel better i've had to wash my hair with a jug for MONTHS because the mixer attachment on our bath is dodgy and the water comes out really hot since we had the boiler fixed! So chin up- it could be worse, you could be me!0

ps, good plan with the M&S meal deal :T0

Man With Cheaper Spanners came to visit on Saturday and called us today after pricing the appropriate bits and pieces...
£1100!!
Who would have thought I would be excited about spending more than a grand on my sh*tty shower? :rotfl:
In other good news, the figures I was given on Friday for my bonus may have been wrong, meaning it could be closer to £1000 before tax. I'm not counting anything until I can view my payslip online (Wednesday) and start doing my budgeteeringIf this is right I will be able to go away for longer at the start of April and definitely pay for my new specs. Yay!!

Can't believe that the shower is going to end up costing so much! But at least there is a Man With Cheaper Spanners!! Yay for him:T
