    Hey FF
Good luck on Wednesday with the men with spanners!!
Same happened to me a few years ago when my parents went on holiday - I went out for a night came home to find the shower had cracked and flooded the kitchen and partly damaged the ceiling in the living room. Mum and Dad had a nightmare with the insurance (Barclays) and got in a friend of dad's to fix it all, but had to fight the insurance for the money. We were without a shower for nearly 9 weeks due to things not being in stock or the company forgetting to deliver  I ended up going to a neighbours for the 1st week and the swimming pool every day after just to have a shower and wash my hair!!
I hope it is all sorted soon

The insurance is a job for another time I think, I am so tired tonight it's unreal. I have been and showered at my friend's house. You people with hot showers don't know how much it rocks until it's gone, let me tell you. At least my hair will be clean tomorrow morning and I won't have to wash it in the sink again :rotfl:

On the plus side, I forgot to mention this one - I'm getting my bonus!! Whiroooo! I think it's going to be quite small, and once my pension and student loan comes off the gross amount along with the usual tax it will probably be buttons, but it's something. Hopefully I will find out how much this week so I can budget. I am sitting on my credit card so I don't spend until it's in my account for the first time ever!!

I got my mobile bill today - zero again :D:D:D:D I am still £76 in credit with them, it will be ages before I get a real bill :rotfl: T'other half's cashback is tracked at £90 on Quidco as well Terri, cross your fingers for me!!

Right, bed for me. Speak to you all tomorrow.

    Xx

    Hi fresian ...

I'm glad you managed to pop around to your friends for a shower HSsingshower.gif , you must be feeling alot better after that .....

I was trying to find you a nice picture of a " man with spanners " ...... but haven't yet found a suitable one ! ....... So you will have to have a " man with a wrench " instead plumber-1.gif ! .... Hopefully he will turn up early tomorrow ( hump day ! ) for you, then that way you can have the rest of the day to yourself , relaxing ! Books20by20fire.gif .....

Glad to hear that you are getting your bonus .... that's great news :T ....

Am also very pleased that your other halfs' phone contract has " tracked " at £90 :j ....

    Take care ....

    Hi all,

I'm typing quite slowly tonight as I sliced a bit off my finger while cutting onions and have a muckle big plaster on my finger, making typing a bit of a b*gger :D

Men With Spanners came. They said I will have to have the shower tray taken out and replaced. B*llocks. I called the insurance and they are classing it as wear and tear and won't pay. They will pay for my neighbour to have her damage repaired, which won't cost a lot, but won't pay for my new shower tray etc. Not good.

The plumber had said that he would get me a quote today but I haven't heard back from him. I think possibly because it's now not going to be an inflated insurance job. I don't have another plumber to call and am now worried that I am going to be without a shower for weeks.

In short, all is poo and I'm going to bed.

    Night all.

    Xx

Man With Gold-Plated Spanners has verbally quoted us £1800. I'm being held to ranson. I would consider a dirty protest but we already smell.

    B*STARDS.......

    How much?!!
    BarStewards...
Make sure you get other quotes though...
When we had boiler replaced we had quotes up to £5000
but eventually only paid £1600 with an independent guy. I know shopping around is a pain but it's worth it. And the insurance company shouldn't be able to tell you who to use because they're not futting the bill.

Futting? that's the weirdest typo i've ever done. Wonder what my brain was thinking there? :D

:grouphug: a hug for you that is not a nice number, unless that sum is money you are going to receive!

FIngers crossed that you get it sorted by some lovely cheap plumbers. Being without a shower sucks big time.

How's the finger? Make sure it doesn't get infected it happened to me once it was horrible

    Hi all,

Sorry I haven't been around for a while but I have had a serious case of the Blahs since the shower went. I had another guy out yesterday to look at it who thinks it needs less work doing, but that it will still be over £1000. Proper quote to follow.

I'm lucky in a way because prior to t'other half going to college I was sending £200 per month to my dad to keep aside for house repairs and had saved up £2000. I think I'm so miserable about it because that will soon all be gone and if anything else goes wrong in the house...

    But enough of the Eeyoring
HSEeyore.gif Not everything has been bad in the Fresian Household. I am still making my PADs, although with one week till payday they will be quite small :D I'm hoping that by the time I am paid I will have cleared off £300 from my debts. Things will start getting tight soon though as the Council Tax payments are back (Boo!) so there will be less money going towards my debts.

I am getting a bonus this year, it's smaller than I thought it would be, but it will be free money. I have been given the percentages and think it should be around £500 but will get confirmation on Monday. On Wednesday I will be able to view my payslip online and start budgeteering
horse-sabre-03.gif - I think it will work out at about £250-£300 once my student loans, pensions and tax come off. I'm going to use it for a trip to the Frozen North I think, I just want out of the city for a while, and me and t'other half can see our friends and our nephew. It could be used for debts, but I think that having been so good over the last months I want a treat :D

Right, caffeine calls, I just wanted to let you know, in the words of Granny Weatherwax "I atent dead"
