    Hi everyone...

Just a quick post from me as I am fricking knackered and I am going to be going to bed in about ten minutes!!

A good DFW day for me today. I didn't have enough food to take lunch with me, but used my Advantage points to get a Boots meal deal for nothing, so no spend there. I did go to the supermarket after work, but got enough ingredients for the week and no more. Total spend was £14, so I can live with that. I have now run out of eggs though. Bah.

I still have £10 left of my weekly budget, but I'm trying not to spend it so I can put it towards my friends birthday present. I can live without eggs till Saturday...

In better DFW news, I have also done some sorting out of t'other halfs money too. He avoids dealing with banks etc, but I saw a letter from Bank of Scotland the other day on the table offering him 3.9% LOB deal for a balance transfer. He's with Egg at the moment, who seem to be getting bad press for putting their rates up.

I looked at the letter and realised that I could do the transfer online for him, so five minutes in front of the PC and I had transfered his balance and saved him about £12 per month in interest. He's paying the minimum so it's good to save this much for him. I just need to intercept the statements and make sure it has gone through at 3.9% instead of their normal rate!! I've also sent off a request to Egg to close his account, so that will look good on his credit file hopefully.

Right. Bed for me. I've been up for hours too long!

    Night all :D

    Morning all!

Hope you're all doing ok this morning, thank Crunchie it's Hump Day :D It's all downhill from here :rotfl:

Not much to report this morning, I've been sitting in my dressing gown wishing I didn't have to go to work today, not the right attitude really. Still, it's busy at the moment which I'm hoping means I will keep my job for a little while, got to look on the bright side I suppose! Still no word on if we're getting our annual bonus (The announcement was due on Friday last week) and I'm getting nervous about it not coming. There's not a lot I can do I suppose...

I have made my PAD for today, and as I went to the supermarket last night I have food in the house for lunch :j so I'm taking quiche to work and I have some yummy grapes, apples and popcorn to take for snacks.

I opened an account with ING this morning as Martin's email said you would get a £20 bonus even if you only put £1 into the account. That has to be worth a go! I also want to start saving money once the Overdraft and Barclaycard are gone, so it will be good to have an account I can do this with, even if the £20 doesn't turn up. I need to make the first deposit by cheque though and I have no idea where the chequebook is :rotfl:

Right, I have three minutes before I need to go in the shower so I'm going to hunt for my chequebook without waking up t'other half!

Yay, just opened an account myself! :j
Hopefully will get the £20 bonus- but the 3% rate is better than the other 2 accounts I have right now (which I don't use because the interest rates are non existent!) and a yearly bonus of 1.somthing%. Seems quite reasonable

I'm trying to save a few pennies for christmas because even though clearing down the debts is a priority, a lot of the stuff I put on credit cards were christmas and birthday presents for people because I never budgeted for it, don't wanna work hard through the year then go backwards at christmas!

Hi F_f. I've not had chance to catch up with your thread recently, but you still seem to be going great guns.

I was reading about that ING direct account this morning, unfortunately i can't do it as i don't have a cheque book - bah hum bug :p Have you opened one up for t'other half as well?

Hope you have a good day and that you hear sooner rather than later about your bonus xx

Did I open one for t'other half? Of course!! I was hunting through his wallet for his bank account details at silly o clock this morning :D Had to email him from work to tell him why there's now a file on the desktop called "****s security passwords" hehe.

He's a student, a free £20 should sound quite good to him :D

Sorry to hear work is rubbish I echo the feeling. Sounds you have still been doing well though. At least tomorrow is Thursday the weekend is in sight.

I have just discovered that the weekly email must go to people on different days as I have not had mine yet it usually comes tomorrow how strange!

Following your good example I must start up PAD again.

    Morning all!

PointyPenguin - I think that there are 3.3million people now who receive the weekly email and so it goes out in batches. If you check the
homepage in the morning you will see any good offers like that - I don't get my email until late on Wednesday so check the site on a Wednesday morning which is how I got my account opened.

Not a lot in the Grand Plan for today. I made Shepherds Pie last night, so that will be dinner again this evening. I got £9 expenses through and have made my PAD with them, and for some reason I have had less money go out in direct debits than expected (My free Orange has kicked in I think) so my overdraft will definitely be paid off before payday and I can then really start saving for the credit card and loan. :j

I need to get t'other half a phone contract as he has left T-Mobile due to their rubbish service (Looooong story) Do you know if I put this through for him through my Quidco if it will track for me? If not, I will just take another contract out in my name for him.

Right, better get ready for work I suppose :D

    Hi fresian moo.gif ....

If i was you i would take another contract out in your name others-178.gif
..... at least that way you " should " receive the cashback through Quidco ......

I have read on the other forum boards that people have had problems with insurance etc that they have taken out for other people ...... so i personally would not risk losing the cashback or worse , they could close your account  as i'm sure that it states somewhere on there that each account is for " personal use " only ....

Hope your day went well at work today ....

Ooooooooooooooh the thought of your Shepherds Pie is making me feel really hungry ! hungrysmiley.gif ..... Hope you enjoy it ....

Have you got snow in Edinburgh today ? Snowballthrow.gif ....
