    Morning all!

    I'm aliiiiiiiiive!!

Terri & Laura - Thanks for asking how I am! In truth, not amazing. Work is quite bad at the moment - I'm really busy and because of working for a bank it's quite unsettling at the moment, rumours of disaster abound. My daily challenge to myself has been to get through the days, no more, no less :o which is why the lists haven't gone up. Fear not though! I'm not off the DFW wagon, and have been behaving myself as ever in terms of spends and so on.

Today is my monthly night out with some former colleagues though - we go for a cheap dinner every month, and it's usually great fun. Happy thoughts!

    Happy Hump Day!

Glad to hear that you are still with us ! :j .....

Very sorry to hear that work is pretty bad at the moment ..... but on the plus side you've not fallen off the DFW wagon ;) ....
Did you have a lovely evening out with your friends ? viannen_103.gif ..... Hopefully that cheered you up .....

I hope you are feeling alot better by the time you get home from work today A615MGZCAQRGD6ZCAXXC4U6CARNGPLHCAD3.jpg ....

    Take care .....

  • Hey F_F hope you are feeling better.

I must say your logic about battling with your conscience is great and I need to think about generally not buying rubbish, not aim to be super motivated all the time as that is impossible. The problem is I am an impatient person so if things happen slowly I can sometimes lose interest. I suppose it need to be a change in the way of thinking and making it a habit to think what use could I put my money to if I didn't buy so and so item.

I hope work is not getting you down too much but it can be hard to stay positive when all there seems to be is doom and gloom. I hope we are starting to move out of this terrible financial position that as a nation we are in.

    Evening all :D

Thanks for the Get Well wishes, they are appreciated. I do feel a lot better than I did this morning. I think it is stress which is making me a little unwell to be honest and I am just really looking forward to my weekend of not being at work!

My work is due to post their results to the City tomorrow, which is what is making everyone I know nervous, as banks have been doing badly, and we're all starting to worry about redundancy a lot more than we were even a few months ago. I think that this combined with how busy my area is hasn't helped. I hope that I can just keep my head down, work hard and keep my job...*crosses fingers*

In DFW news, not a lot to report tbh. I have had another NSD today, and sent the same amount as I spent last night on dinner to my Overdraft Begone Fund. I should have £15ish left tomorrow when the Weekly Spend Challenge ends, and a good chunk of this will be going to PAD as well. I am now determined to have the overdraft paid off in the next couple of weeks and to start on my loan/redundancy fund ASAP just in case. Tis scary times to be working for a bank.....at least I am doing all I can to sort out my finances sooner rather than later though. Happy thoughts and all that :D

I have yet another missing direct debit to chase (This blooming account transfer is driving me crazy!) tomorrow if I get time at lunchtime. This time it's my mortgage repayment insurance, which is one of the last things I want to miss. !!!!!!.

Right, going to do some reading and get an early night. Apologies for the doom-laden posts recently, normal service will be resumed shortly.

    Xxx

    Hi everyone!

All is well in the land of Fresian at the moment, I have just been really busy with work and haven't been online as much recently. With no major news to report I haven't felt as though I should post...

I'm carrying on in the fine DFW tradition though - my Barclaycard has hit the target of £650 balance less than a week after payday, and I have almost half the money I need to clear my overdraft saved up. Things are quite tight at the moment, but with the help of PAD and the Weekly Spend Challenge I'm definitely on the right track. The sooner I clear some of these debts the better I will feel.

At present, I'm quite tempted to keep saving once I have paid off the overdraft, as the Barclaycard is on 0% until January, and it would make me feel better knowing that I had money in some kind of emergency fund. If I did that then I could pay it off in December and just concentrate on building an emergency fund. What do you all think?

    My plans for today are:

    • A day out with The Boy - he's going to help me choose my new glasses!
    • Dishes
    • Make my Dine in for £10 dinner - roast chicken
    • Washing
    • Tidy up a bit
Have a lovely Saturday all :D

I think this is a good idea, I'd like the idea of a bit of a 'safety net'. After all, if nothing does happen you can always use the money at a later date, or change your mind if it reverts to whatever APR and you can't get a new 0%. Basically you're not loosing anything, but gaining some piece of mind.

ps good look with getting you glasses. I'm actually an optician! On Thursday I sold a lady some glasses for (wait for it..) £1289. That's right, over a £1000 on spex. Even I think that's a bit barking (but good for business obviously! :D )

pps Don't worry about the state of this ladie's finances- her husband's a millionaire.
  • Good evening FF,

morning fresian! good luck with the great glasses hunt today.

we had the dine in for 10 gammon last night, with roasted veg & some chips (the chips were from the freezer, not M&S;)) and a huuuuuuuggggeee pile of profiteroles. and a bottle of wine. lovely! (and no wonder i have abandoned all weigh-in plans on the PAD thread...)

i'm still lolling in bed now, have read my book for an hour and now playing on laptop for a bit. until the kids shout for breakfast, anyway!

new month now - hopefully i'll be a bit more focussed than i was in feb, which was all over the place. enjoy your sunday! x
Mortgage free as of 11/11/15 !
