Good morning all!
Wooooohooooo for payday!! Even though I lived within my means last month it's still nice to see some money in the bank account again :rotfl:
So far, I have made my aim of paying the Barclaycard down to £650 one step closer by paying off £95 of it todayI always pay off £25 when I get paid, and my mortgage was £84.91 less than I thought it would be so I sent £70 to Barclaycard and another £14.91 to my Overdraft Begone Account, so I'm feeling very happy this morning!
My plans for today are:
- [strike]Check online banking[/strike] It's quite confusing moving bank accounts as my direct debits seem to be coming off two accounts, so I am going to have to make sure I am careful with checking payments haven't debited twice :rotfl:
- [strike]Make PAD[/strike] £109.91 paid today, YEAH!!!
- Take lunch to work with me
- Fill flasks so I don't spend on coffee
- Go to M&S at lunchtime to return the Best Jeans Ever for ones in a bigger size. Boo. Less cake for me methinks.
- Washing on 30 degree wash
- Dishes
- Yummy dinner of some kind that will last for a day or two
Edited to add - just signed up for the March NSD challenge. I'm aiming for 15 NSDs this month  I amn't hugely militant about it though - as long as it's budgeted for it doesn't count. So if I buy groceries that's ok, but the paperback I buy in Asda isn't groceries so that ruins the NSD :rotfl:

Morning!
Well done on the massive pay off towards debts this morning :T
I think building your savings is a great idea, we all need something to fall back on. Have a great Monday - day off for me today so feel lucky
Take care, xNo spend days for March = 3Money to joint savings 2009 = £100.00Money to personal savings 2009 = £0.000 -
well done on making such good headway into your accounts.
i think you're being sensible about your plans to put money into savings rather than paying extra on your front loaded loan, it makes more sense0 -
hi fresian, just wanted to add my congrats on clearing so much so quickly! well done xx
i agree with terri that your "save to pay off" plan makes sense...my "what if" account now has about 4 months mortgage payments just sitting there. which makes me feel quite good. hopefully in a year or two we will use some of it to buy a lovely new leather suite for the lounge, but for now - the kids can wreck the old one and i can sleep at night!
ps what is "crivvens!" exactly? is it an excited scottish word? and would you say it when shopping at your "posh" local shopping centre? (hee hee!)Mortgage free as of 11/11/15 !
:Anow... to start some serious saving :A

It is the Scottish equivilant of "Eek/Oh Noes/Cripes" I think. To use it properly one would say "Jings, crivvens, help ma boab". That probably doesn't help muchI sometimes forget that I'm broadcasting to foreign shores and may need translating!

- [strike]Fill flasks so I don't spend on coffee[/strike]
- Go to M&S at lunchtime to return the Best Jeans Ever for ones in a bigger size. Boo. Less cake for me methinks. Forgot to take them with me.
- Washing on 30 degree wash Revenge achieved on flatmate for bread thievery when he didn't check temperature of wash and did his work shirts at 90 degrees (I washed some sheets) Oopsie.
- Dishes Ach well, no-one does dishes on Monday do they?
- [strike]Yummy dinner of some kind that will last for a day or two [/strike] Won't last another day, but was nomarific nonetheless.
I'm getting bad at completing my lists again, must try harder. I did buy lunch for 23p today as I had a Boots gift card with a couple of quid on it so I only had to pay 23p cash for my Meal Deal
Also, I am loving my budgeteering spreadsheet, I'm looking forward to my direct debits coming out, sad cow that I am!
I have paid £40 from my wages into the T'other Half Birthday Pig as well. He wants me to use the money to buy myself new specs (They are so broken that they fell off my face when he hugged me earlier!!) but I don't want to use his birthday money for such things. I think I will go to Optical Express as they are advertising 2 pairs for £69. I'm sure there will be many added extras, but if I pay for them on my credit card (Not the interest free one, don't worry!!) and make some PADs to it, I won't have to use his birthday money and should pay them off by next month. T'other half is coming with me at the weekend to pick specs so I don't pick ones that make me look silly!
How has your day been, people of the internet?

Hi FF
I read on your post from last night you are going to use your bonus to possibly get new specs. Can I offer a little MSE way by suggesting you go to a wholesaler. I need my lenses changed in my glasses every 12 to 18 month and was spending a fortune. I went to a wholesaler last year and got 2 pairs of glasses (1 for every day and 1 for going out) and a pair of sunglasses all prescription for under £150. I don't know if we are allowed to mention names on here but if not PM me and I'll give you the name of the place I went to in Edinburgh. All you need is you lense prescription and they do the rest!
I hope you have a good week

Hey F_F
Just wanted to say a quick :hello:
You have been doing fantastically :T:T:T:T well done. I need to follow your example better and get off my bum. You should bottle your motivation I would buy some.
How has your day been, people of the internet?
As for the bonus arguement I totally agree with you as I am in the same situation get paid peanuts with usually a small bonus and now they want to take it away because some fat cats get millions a year. People forget about us who get all the hassle with none of the glory or benefits.Weekly Spend Challenge: £0/£30

Hey PP, nice to see you
Don't get confused and think that I am very motivated - I really amn't a lot of the time. I'm just lucky in that I am really competative, and once I join a challenge I like to hit my target :rotfl: That's why the PAD thread has been a godsend for me. If not for that I would have been lucky to pay off £300, not £1300!! This way I am constantly having the following thought process:
Me: I want cake.
Conscience: Think of your debt. You could add another £2 to your PAD instead of buying cake.
Me: Mmmm....cake
Conscience: Now, now. Step away from the cake.
Me: *snarl*
Conscience: Buy the value biscuits at 39p and put the rest of that £2 to your Sealed Pot and PAD Piggy
Me: Deal. *snaffles biscuits* *makes PAD*
You see? It's not about being all perky and motivated all the time. Those sorts of people drive me madI'm quite comfortable with my level of inactivity. I am just being more careful about buying c*ap I don't need. I joined the £100 Clothes Challenge too which has made me a lot more careful about buying clothes. Every little challenge adds up.
Your Weekly Spend Challenge is awesome too, I love seeing my name go green coz then I can treat myself at the weekend!
Righto, bed and a book for me! Night all0 -
Hello FF the "Totaliser Queen" !! :T :T
No wonder you are so good at adding up all the PAD's on the other thread if you work in a bank.
Loving your thread. I spotted on the PAD thread you had a diary going so came on to nick some debt busting ideas! And that's a fantastic amount paid off so far. An inspiration.
Hope you get your bonus too! I totally agree the staff who actually do all the REAL work in the banks should get a reward. I'm in a similar boat as I work for an insurance company, jobs all under review etc. I think our industry is next in line to be in trouble cos they all basically live off stock market investments. Ooops. We find out on Thurs whether there will be a small bonus - fingers crossed as it will smack the Egg Card big time!!Debt Free 25th August 2010 with PAD !!TARGETS ::D
