Hi FF! Have finally had chance to read your thread. You're doing a fab job hun :T How you find time to add up our PaD totals i don't know!! Will be following this thread properly from now on, alongside good 'ol Payment a Day.
Take careOne step at a time0 -
Hi Hopeful1!
Pull up a chair and have a cuppa tea and some cake
Well my DFW tea of macaroni and cheese was ok - quite stodgy though and I thought it was a bit heavy for my liking. I've never been good at mac and cheese, but I did save money by making it :rotfl:
I spoke to my mum on the phone earlier - she's visiting on Saturday and said she would buy me some groceries if I need them (Woo!) and has reminded me that when they come back in three weeks they will have more muttonfor my freezer, so I need to be eating more freezer food now!
My cheque for the bank is in my purse for morning, and I have all my remaining funds from the weekly spend challenge in my purse, so I'm all set for what the week brings. I will be in bed soon though I think!
Night all

Ah well done on the cooking - even if it is a bit stodgy there is nothing better (and more mse!) than good home cooking! I made a big hearty soup yesterday and we polished that off today. This week I will be making curry, pie, and ratatouille (sp?) amongst other things! I guess thats what I get for growing up in a family of chefs...
Thats good that your mum will buy you stuff, I always jump at the chance to go shopping with my mum as she'll be doing hers and I go 'ooh I need some pasta/chicken/whatever I'd better get some' and she just tells me to put it in the trolley! Still, thats what mums are for we'll have to do the same for our kids one day...
Sleep well!Ths signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it...0 -
Morning all!
I've gotten out of the habit of posting my DFW plans for each day, so it's time to resurrect that plan. So, today I have done/will do:
- Check online banking
- Make PAD
- Pay in cheque from musicmagpie
- Take lunch to work
- Take flask to work and not get coffee from the flipping canteen
- Aim for NSD
- Sort out Christmas bargains - I have no room to store them in my house so my mum is going to hide them in her loft until Christmas - I just need to make a note of what I have bought for who so I don't buy more :rotfl:
*edit* And I've been saying this for ages, but at lunchtime I am going to move all my numbers from old phone to new phone and arrange to recycle old phone - I can get £52 for it, and that is better spent on my debts I think!

Ok, I have done most of the things on my list so far - I still have to sort out my phone and sort out the Christmas gubbins, but neither of those should take too long hopefully.
I'm also going to make some chicken casserole for dinner (Om nom nom) and do some of the dishes.
I didn't hit my NSD as I had to buy milk (Boo!) but I'm still well on target to spend less than £30 this week which was my aim in the Weekly Spend Challenge. I'm off out for dinner at our local Toby Carvery tomorrow, but am using a voucher to get the meal for £4.80 (Bargain!) and may go to the pictures afterwards, but this will be free. Apart from that there's not a lot of other spending to be done.
I did make some more money this week though - apart from my £10.77 from musicmagpie, I went to the bank and asked them to change my Moneyback account so I don't get the daily overdraft fee (Halifax Moneyback customers, you only have until next week to do this!) and they have changed the account type and paid me my Moneyback early - £86!!!!!!! £46 of this is what I "borrowed" from my surplus to pay the rest of my iPod, but the other £40 can go to debt. Woo! I might actually put £20 to debt and £20 to t'other halfs birthday fund, as I am painfully aware of the lack of available overtime at work at the moment. I'll decide in the morning...
Right, time for me to wander off and make some dinner.
Xx

Right, I had a method for this that worked well for me, so here's how I did it....- Check price of game on Amazon
- If it's less than about £2 it's not worth it really, as there is obviously a lot of stock and no guarantee it will sell quickly
- Check price on Ebay - you would be amazed!! I sold an old PS1 game for a tenner! If it's not selling on Ebay and it's a relatively modern game (PS2, Xbox etc) then try musicmagpie - I only sold CDs, games etc for a total of £20 but there was no guarantee they would have sold on Ebay and I wanted them out of the house. The lazy persons way to sell :rotfl:

Morning all!
Following on from the Chickens of Evil thread, the bbc has kindly informed me this morning that cows are happier when you name them - in fact they can produce up to 50% more milk http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/tyne/7854745.stm
Anyway, on with the DFW chat!
I have gone over my figures quickly this morning, and have sent £17.67 to my Overdraft Begone fund. I could have paid more after I made that money yesterday, but I don't want to leave myself short, so a small payment today and if I can make bigger payments later in the month I will. I'm going to take £20 out though and put it in my fund for t'other halfs birthday though. He was due £30 from my overtime this month but it went directly to him and not in the birthday pot (Poor struggling student that he is!)
The £330 I sent from A&L to my Halifax overdraft has arrived, so that's £330 of my overdraft now "paid off" as far as Halifax is concerned, so less interest for me. It's come from my interest-free overdraft with Alliance and Leicester anyway, so woo!! I've sent back all the forms that A&L have sent me now so they should be in the middle of changing my account over, I just don't want to take out the overdraft money just in case!
My loan payment of £129 came off today  which takes my loan balance down to £6794.81. I can't wait until the overdraft and card are paid off and I can start working on this one.
So, after the longest ramble ever, what are my plans for today?
- Usual DFW stuff of making packed lunch, bringing flask to work
- Eating out tonight :j with a group of old workmates, we get together monthly at our local Tobys carvery. It will be £4.80 for the meal + cost of drinks. I normally drink large amounts of wine, but am going to consider sobriety. I'm making no promises!
Have a lovely day everyone.
