Hello!
I've spent my lunchtime doing DFW maths :rotfl:
Since my last payday I have paid off:
£235.62 from my overdraft - most of it has gone into an account I'm going to use to pay it off in one go
£99.87 from my Barclaycard
All of this through PAD! This is a total of £335.49 paid off, plus £72 saved for t'other halfs birthday fund. I think I'm going to concentrate on the overdraft for the next couple of months and try and clear that by April and then work on the Barclaycard. Both of them are interest free so it doesn't really matter which I clear first. I just think it will give me more of a psychological boost to see my current account in the black not the red.
New balances
Barclaycard: £915.00
Overdraft: £465.00 (is at £700 but I have £235 saved)
I'm quite perky now0 -
Evening all
I didn't go to Boots at lunchtime, because it was cold outside and I stayed in the office, ate my lunch and did some maths! I think my iPod got delivered today as there was a card in the letterbox, and I will call UPS tomorrow (From work, pesky expensive phone lines!) to arrange redelivery.
I also got a bluetooth headset in the post today which I think that Orange must have said they would give me when I renewed my contract. There is no way I am going to use it, so off to Ebay it goes! I'll list it over the weekend along with some other bits and bobs if I can find the motivation.
Thank Crunchie it's Friday and payday tomorrow, roll on the weekend! Me and t'other half are thinking about going to see Frost/Nixon at the pictures (Me with my free pass and him with his student-price ticket) then out for dinner (Zizzi two for one voucher courtesy of MSE) I think he feels guilty sometimes when I treat him, but I like to do it as I am working full time and he is only getting £300 per month from his student loan. If I didn't we wouldn't have nights out :rotfl:
Anyway, bed for me now, to make payday come quicker!!

Good morning all
Iiiiiiitttt's Paaaaaayyyydaaaaayyyy!!!!
Yay!!
Quick post from me as I need to have a shower and then see if I can sneak some rubbish in our neighbours bin as it's binday :rotfl:
Today I have done/will do:
- [strike]Check online banking[/strike] w00t, payday!
- [strike]Make PAD[/strike] A whopping £106.82 - w00t payday again!
- Email council to get them to give us kerbside recycling buckets - ours got stolen and put on a bonfire one Guy Fawkes night
- Go to Boots and stock up for the month
- Evaluate food stocks, write shopping list and beg friend with car to take me to Asda this weekend
- Figure out my new phone :rotfl:
- Sell old phone
- Make home-made dinner (Planning shepherd's pie again as it was yummy)
- Take flask to work with hot water for coffee
- Treat myself to lunch as it's payday - I just can't be a DFW on payday
Today I have paid:
- £3.75 to the overdraft - my change from my extra wages after I save for t'other halfs birthday and pay off some theatre tickets I bought
- £25 minimum to Barclaycard.
- £78.07 to the overdraft - the difference between what I budgeted for my mortgage to be and what it was.
Only problem is - I was going to pay for my new shiny iPod (Getting delivered today!!!!)with my non-Council Tax month and my mortgage payment difference. I got excited when I got paid and forgot about that, so I need to find another £45 somewhere to cover the iPod :rotfl: I have some plans though, never fear!
Total PAD = A kick*ss £106.82
So, I need to fill that little hole in my budget :rotfl: I should be due about £85 in Moneyback from my Halifax account, so I will just pay £40 to my overdraft instead of £85 I think.
Have a lovely day all - yay Fridays!

Oh you lucky cow (lol typed that without realising at first!) I don't get paid for another week! Talking of boots sales I went into ours last week and it looked like a swarm of locusts had been through! Just empty shelves!
Good on making the PAD's such big amounts already! Do you count the ordinary monthly payments or are they over and above that? Well done whatever!Ths signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it...0 -

My normal monthly payments are:
£25 Barclaycard
£129 loan
I only count the Barclaycard one, as I'm not doing anything about my loan at the moment, I want the smaller debts sorted out first then I will do battle with my loan
My PADs are made up from my surplus each month once the bills are paid and any extra money I happen to make from Surveys, Ebaying or selling things on Amazon (Another book sold today!)
I tend to start off with a big PAD at the beginning of the month, like today, then do smaller amount for the rest of the month. I normally split any Ebay/Amazon money between my PAD and saving for t'other half's birthday. I will have less surplus this month as I have given him some cash to help him out (Poor struggling student with no job!) and I have a new shiny iPod to pay for.
On the New Shiny iPod front, I went to UPS to pick it up after work and the van wasn't back from it's deliveries - I would have had to wait at least 45 minutes for it so I just had to go home
I did get home and make some yummy shepherds pie though, and there is loads of it!I haven't done the dishes though, I really couldn't be bothered!
I only meant to reply to Silaqui's post, and this has turned into a wee update :rotfl: What a surprise - me blathering on0 -
I really am rubbish at spending small amounts in supermarkets...
It has certainly been harder since we lost the car (It failed its MOT with honours and now lives in the Great Junkyard In The Sky *sob*) and we have to rely on what we can carry or our nice friend with the car.
I did our "monthly" shop tonight online at Asda. I have been better than I have been before:
- Mince @ £1 for 500g, 5 bought, will batch cook mince for mince n tatties as well as spaghetti and freeze portions for use as the month goes on.
- Chicken @ £1 for 2 chicken breasts. 4 bought
- Whiskas pouches (My kitties have expensive tastes) 24 for £4, so bought two boxes
- SmartPrice - biscuits, sweetcorn, tinned tomatoes
- Loads of cereal (T'other half eats sooooo much cereal it's ridiculous) I bought him 3kg (!) of muesli, a box of Frosties and some Bran Flakes, and I will be amazed if it lasts the month :rotfl:
I still have loads of tonight's dinner, so will have that tomorrow, but I'm going to make soup too. I'm quite liking this domesticity thing, but I hate doing dishes :rotfl::rotfl:

good morning! first of all, a belated "HURRAH" for your ipod - hope you can pick it up today. i didn't realise you could have them engraved, i will have to start thinking about what i will put on my new one when i eventually get it!
glad your shop was a good one. i went to mr a yesterday (for better or worse, we actually live across the road from one but i did take the car as knew i would have too much heavy stuff to manage...). i spent 77 pounds but got loads of mince, sausages, tins, fish etc so i am hopeful that my next shop or two will just be to top up bread/milk/cheese etc. i have a lovely breadmaker and if i could recreate tiger bread (there's a whole thread on here somewhere about that - no one has managed!) we'd be all set. but we do have a weakness for it so it's the only bread i buy.
we have so much cereal i won't be buying that for weeks. don't know if you saw the nestle boxes for a pound with the "film for a pound" from play.com before christmas. well, suffice to say we have 10 of the 12 films they offered now! (as santa stocking fillers and some put away for easter baskets/birthday top ups).
lazy start for me, just sent OH down to make a hot drink
happy saturday! did you manage to get any reduction from audible? xxMortgage free as of 11/11/15 !
:Anow... to start some serious saving :A
